rear view mirror auto dimmer

Has anyone expeerienced the auto dimmer on the rear view mirror not to function? I currently am having a problem with it dimming, although I press the button on the mirror & still nothing happens, any suggestions as to what the problem is? Nothing is blocking the sensor on the back either. thanx for any solutions. Irish

Check that the wiring connector on the back side of the mirror has not come loose somehow. Does the green LED come on when you press the (power) button?

thanks for your reply, I did just that, I reached behind the mirror & it seems the plug wasn't snug, so I pressed it in & "low & behold", it worked. It must have gotten knocked off somehow at the car wash when they were cleaning the windshield. Who knows if I had taken it to the dealership they might have charged for a new mirror. Thanks again for your reply, & this website has always helped me out with an answer or how to find the solution.
