View Full Version : Help w/ broken 2003 MM, Zack still here?
My 2003 MM left me stranded yesterday.
DR Tune w/ 4.10s. A 10K mile garaged weekender.
I haven't had the car out for a month or so. Took it out yesterday, sunny day. Beat it as usual, drove it hard for about 25 miles. Stopped @ a friends for about 30 minutes. Start go car to leave, car starts w/ very rough idle. Give gas briefly while idling, still very rough. Car stalls, I start, runs for a second & stalls.
Now just cranks, no start.
Let sit for a few, but still no start.
I plug in tuner to return to factory codes. Still no start.
I have the Ford ESP w/ 36K miles expires 4/24/2010.
I will have it towed tomorrow to a dealer.
Your thoughts please.
Thanx for your time. Ron Flowers.

Can you hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you initially turn the key on?

Im gonna have to agree on sounds like a fuel shortage issue.
Pull off the tire cap looking thing on the fuel rail and you can hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see if you have any, or just poke the valve stem and see if fuel will squirt out, And it will SQUIRT out if there is pressure.
OR you could just have it towed to the dealer and have them fix it.

Turn the key while someone else pounds on the fuel tank, could be the fuel pump is hung up....change it out at your first chance

It's not likely Zack could help you, even if he was here. Remember his "business" model:
1. Ask for copies of tunes other people have had done (and paid for) with Dennis, Lidio and others.
2. Sell those tunes to others, keeping the money for himself.
It's not likely he'll know anything about what caused the damage, especially on a tune designed for a whole other car.
Advice: If you do take the car to the dealer, put the original (stock) tune back in the computer first. If they find modifications, they may void the engine part of your ESP.
