First of.... dont be alarmed Im not going nuts on the MM.
I picked up some newer style 20in stock wheels for the Ram.
Steps Ive taken so far with them are....
A good power washing at the car wash.
A good scrub down with simple green and a brush
and now Im in the process of going at them with 320 grit sandpaper on a few spots on the lip that have corrosion starting under the clearcoat, and Im sanding them down to bare metal.
I have also scuffed up the spokes (which are painted) with a mix of 320 grit and 400 grit wet and dry, but not going down to bare metal.
Im thinking about hitting the back side of the wheel with 320 or maybe something more coarse to clean them up a little more.
Plans after the sanding are the use an "etch and filler primer" spray paint, then I have 2 cans of factory color matched spray paint.
They dont have to be perfect, but I want em to look decent for a couple years.
Any tips from people who do autobody painting.?
