CD Player help needed please

I have a defective CD stuck in my Ranger's Mach CD player.
Any suggestions how to extract?
The readout says "No CD"...

Either go to a local stereo shop and see if they will pull the deck and extract the cd. Pull the deck and remove the top and see if you can slide it out. Be carful on this. If the cd is a home recorded one and you put a label on it it may have caused this. If not the mechanism and laser have gone bad. If that is the case send it to United Radio for repairs.

No label, it was part of an audio book from the library. It had some roughness around the edge when I took it out the first time, but I just cleaned it on my shirt as I was driving and stuck it back in the slot.
I'll pull the radio tonight to see how hard it will be to get it apart.
