I'm a huge fan of Mobil 1, and use it in any car I get with low miles. I have also ran a 93 CV with dino Valvoline for 287k miles. So either way you can't go wrong. Just change your oil regularly.

ya, I dont have very many options when it comes to 5w20 my Marauder has bout 140,000 miles on it and uses about 1/3 a litre of oil between changes, so I guess i'll just use mobile 1 with a ford filter.

I have been using the 5-20w synthetic blend from Motorcraft for the past 6 years with no problems at all. Coming up on 65K and she doesn't burn any oil at all between changes.

I've used Mobile 1 5w20 since new and no oil needed between the 5k changes.

As stated, use a good quality oil and change regularly.

I started buying the 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 5W20 at "Wally World". Last one I bought was $22.39, divide that by 5 and comes to $4.47 a quart which makes me a happy Wally World shopper lol.

Strictly Mobile 1 5W20 user also, and unfortunately no 5W20 at our Wally's either. Kragen or Pep-boys gets my business when they run specials and I stock up. I also go with a K&N oil filter.

I've had too many issues with K&N oil filters, I stick with Motorcraft. At least the K&N oil filters I have used have had problems with the anti drain back valve and always collect more metal particles in my oil drain screen. When using a Motorcraft my oil is metal free for as much as I can see and what my oil drain screen catches.

4play, both MC and M1 are excellent oils that will give good service. Since you're in the Canada, I might go with M1 simply because, being fully synthetic, it will have better low-temperature flow properties.

I've gone 218K miles using nothing but the Motorcraft 5W-20 synthetic blend. No issues here, doesn't burn oil, doesn't leak. Changed it at every 5K miles, just like the book says. It's basically a matter of brand loyalty. Use the proper weight, and change at the proper interval, you shouldn't have a problem.

I would imagine Ford just relabels the oil container. Doubt they actually make it. It may even be Mobil for all I know.

Motorcraft oil is supplied by ConocoPhillips. It's rebranded Phillips 66 TropArtic.

well, I just changed my oil today, used 5w20 MOBLE 1 and a ford 820s filter, noticed that the ford filter looks to be higher quality then the crap u but at wal-mart, also they had 2 kinds of moble1 oil's they had 5w20 for about 5 bucks a litre, and they had moble 1 full synthetic 5w20 for 10 bucks a litre, I just went with the regular one.

I use the Mobil 1 5W20 extended life with the extened life filter and have no issues.

you have to watch some of those aftermarket filters, like fram, those are junk, cardboard end caps, just cheap, good ones that I know of are motorcraft, WIX, purolator.

Nice that my F150 uses the same weight and filter too !!! I can stock up whenever it's on sale.

If it said MOBIL 1 on the label, then it is full synthetic. If it just said "MOBIL" without the "1", then it's a conventional oil.

With that many miles, and for the sake of the seals and gaskets i'd stick with Motorcraft blend. I could be wrong, and am no where near that mile stone, but maybe Paul Casey and others who have reached that level will chime in.

Plus, since you say you're loosing a little oil between changes, the oe oil is cheaper.

5w 20 mobil1 with an mobil1 oil filter. With a freshly cleaned k&n air filter lubed up every 3,000 miles now at 60k. With that done performance hands down. Heres a short story from miami dade county to orlando fl on a road trip, made it their in 2 hours. Sweet....

Make sure you clean your MAFS since you clean your K&N every 3k miles. K&N recommends cleaning every 12 or 15k miles unless you live in a dusty area then it should be cleaned more often.

I've been running the Motorcraft full synthetic in my MM. But I have been running Mobil 1 in the Bronco. My son has been driving the bronco lately. He hasn't been checking the oil regularly. He drives about 70 miles a day round trip to school. Came home the other day and said it was sounding funny - kinda clicking. Put 6 quarts in it. Still running ok, no obvious damage. My wife did the same thing (only longer) several years ago with a 92 CV. I had Mobil 1 in it, too. I think the synthetic oil must leave a better film on the parts to keep them from seizing up with no oil pressure. Ran that CV over 50k with no problems after I filled it up with oil.

The factory PCV valve seems to be better than the new Ford replacment one I bought. Ever since I put the new one in the oil started to disapear.
And when I took the plenum off for my project it was wet with oil on the inside.

So needless to say I am going back to the original one seeing I kept it.

But I have only been getting my oil changes at the dealer so it is all on record for the car both in the VIN look up on it if I ever went to sell her and for the extended warenty record as well incase they try to pull a fast one if I ever need to use it.

But anyways after pulling the cam covers the inside of the engine was like brand new. So I am happy with the Ford Synthetic oil and sugest the same.

I am going to use an Air Compressor oil and water catch on the car inbetween the PCV and the Plenum to stop oil from going into the air intake system and be able to watch just how much is being pumped out that way.
