My 03 Marauder (while in "D") remains in 2nd gear until I push very
hard and foward on the shifter to get up thru the passing gears.
While in "D" the rpm's will keep climbing and never shift up until I do
this. Is this just a mechanical problem that can be adjusted by the
linkage? or is it a computer sending problem? Any help would be
great, thanks

Mine did this when it was very, very young....
It would not shift from three to four if I had first shifted out of OD while driving. I used to have to pull over, shift to park, and start all over again.

I had the shifter cable linkage adjusted at the dealer under warranty.

It has done it twice since, only finding reverse.
Same fix.

It is currently doing again and has now for about a year, only in reverse. I have to smack the shifter again once shifted into reverse to actually find reverse.

Perhaps this your problem.

CRUZTAKER, My 03 has done this from new. I brought it in before the
warrantee expired, it's my fault for not pressing the issue after they said
it shifted perfectly. They did replace OD switch, but this problem still
remains the same today.
Hopefully a minor adjustment in the linkage will get it to where it should've
been years ago........................... ..........................Than ks, Scippy
