Check engine light was on and it mentioned the o2 Censor could be bad or the mass flow air censor. I changed the o2 cencors and the car is still acting up. The mass flow one looks fine, but is there a way to clean it?
The car started dying after the stock tune was put back in and the car has been tuned several times and still dies. This is getting very annoying after 6 months or so. It dies in stop and go traffic and especially when I am slowing down to a stop sign.
Any thoughts?
BTW I am visiting a certian someone tomorrow tuning help. I don't know how he continues to put up with me.

Because he's a stand up guy.
How about changing spark plugs? Fuel filter? Maybe an air leak on intake?

Spark plugs have been changed and gapped properly at the beginning of summer.
Fuel filter was replaced one month ago.
No air leaks. If so the car would die and stay dead until I bolted the pipe back on... I have done that more times than I care to remember.

Have you tried looking into a fuel pressure issue?

There are several different idle parameters. Maybe "idle on decel" (or something like that) is set too low.

Hve you sprayed out our IAC with carb or MAF cleaner?

No. Carb cleaner hua?
I'll clean it with that asap.
Brian, that sounds like a good thing to check out on the Xcal2.
I'll mess with that if our friend can't find the issue... or he'll read this and we will mess with it when I meet up with him.
BTW what should the car be set to for idle? I noticed it idles at 900 when I start it up, but sometimes it'll start go to 1800 (when it fires up) drops to 400 and back up to 900 for the warm up... again this is all when I fire it up, so it happens in 2 seconds literally. That is just another example. A few times the car died the second it fired up... like as soon as it was dropping from 1800 it went back down to 400 to a point where the car died and I had to start it again.

When you start it up the rpms should shoot up to 1800-2000 rpms then sit about mid 900's as the car is warming up. Zack has my Park Idle set at 800 rpms and Drive Idle at 750-775 rpms. By switching tunes and all some of the tweaking may have been forgotten to do. Def. check the Idle and I would probably set it to 800 in Park and 750-775 in Drive. If those settings are fine then you know it's not to do with them and something else lol.
Dom for real.......sell your black and buy an SB

Sounds like a dirty IAC. Its a two minute job to remove and clean, it did wonders for mine. Mine idles near 900.

I was kinda thinking that, but since he stated that the problem started with a tune change I was going down that path instead...

It would be bad if it's been tuned multiple times and no one remembered to changed the IAC parameters from stock.

Yeah, How can you have so much trouble keeping that Marauder with all four wheels on the ground?

ummmmmmmm what?
I don't know what Zack did. I went to see him, I was greeted with a "Hi retard." I gave him my tuner, he took it to his computer, we went to my car, pluged in the Xcal2 and it was done.
The Torque Converter problem was kinda fixed too. It's still there, but it's not dangerious anymore.
Either way it was time well spent and once again I am happy to have Zack in my life too. I'm not going to rave about him because we all know how helpful he is.
Problem sloved and I don't know how.
PM me for Zacks email for those of you who want the full detail to the answer.

You can clean your MAF with plain 'ol electrical contact cleaner. Clean and lightly oil your filter too. You can also drain the car computer (neg term) to force it to relearn fuel trims etc. Even with the tune fixed you should clean your MAF.

babbage can you elaborate on draining the computer, parentheses, negative terminal, to force a relearn? Just disconnecting the battery won't do it?
