I am going to take off all of my pipes for the Procharger and clean them because I think I might have a little oil in them. My question for you is what would be a good cleaner to get the oil out of the pipes? I plan on scubbing them from the inside unless I need to do it another way.

Painting. As long as I am taking the pipes off I figured it would be good to paint them too. I will probably paint them black, but maybe red since I seen what it looks like and I was quite fond of it. I am planning on spray painting all the pipes and leaving the supercharger alone.

Is spray paint alright to use? If so is there a special type for steal pipes?

Let me know.

Thanks.

P.S. Can I paint the blower or does the blower get too hot? I really am not planning on it, but I would like to know.

procharger doesn't come with Alum? Either way carb cleaner works fine, no scrub involved. Spray and wipe

Wow thanks man. That carb cleaner can clean anything. How do you think it'll work on carbs? :D

They really don't make good carb cleaner any more Dom.Until some time in the 70's Mobil sold some foaming carb cleaner that REALLY worked, they also had some caustic type radiator flush that would leave the brass shiny and clean in the radiator and removed all the crud.Forest City used to sell some carb cleaner called Hog Wash that really worked too,but woe unto him that got it on rubber gaskets or paint,it would swell them up so big you wouldn't believe it and it flat ruined paint or sometimes removed it.I used a lot of it cleaning out passages and the rest of the bodies on motorcycle carbs and it did the job where multiple cans of Gumout carb cleaner wouldn't even begin to work on the stuff.

seeing as you're cleaning the same things IE oil and gunk, that's the weapon of choice. Uncle Lar is right though, what I use is actually throttle body cleaner, but I grew up with carbs so it's hard not to call it that sometimes. works like a charm though. MAF cleaner cuts almost better, but is more expensive.

Wax the inside of the pipes. There will be less resistance for the air as it travels through to the intake.

Cool.

The more I think about it the less I want to paint the pipes, but no one has answered that yet.

What type of paint should I use for the pipes? Do I need to prep or can I simply clean them and spray them? I bet I have to sand off whatever is on the surface for not only a clean look, but so the paint will stay on.

Advice?
