By Popular request, I went out and recorded a 60 second mpeg of the butt end of my car...

If you're interested in what my exhaust sounds like....

Please keep in mind, the mpeg is almost 20megabytes in a vain attempt to preserve sound quality. So, if you're going to listen to it over, and over and over again, please right click on the link above and select "Save target as" so you don't eat up the bandwidth.

WOW ! Thats the sound I'm looking for, it doesn't sound like anything I've heard before, nice deep rumble at idle and a very throaty tone at part throttle to mid throttle and gets better and better with WOT. :bounce:

It's SOOOOOOOO hard to get that point across over the internet... Hence the Mpeg's and dyno are the best I can provide... :)

that's what I wanted to hear. It sounds good to me, but just a little too much for my taste. I still fully intend to purchase this Kook's exhaust system, however I think that the one thing that I'll do differently yhan you have is to get the 18" mufflers from them instead of the 14" ones that you have chosen. Both sizes are the straight-thru design, so I'm sure that by me going w/the 18" ones it will NOT increase the back pressure more than the 14" ones, but at the same time will make the exhaust note a bit more quiet. I want my car to be just a little louder than stock, but not all that much. And I know that it isn't simply your choice of the Kook's headers that is causing your car to be that loud, but instead it's the choice of mufflers. Headers will change the exhaust note a little, but not as much as the choice of mufflers will. Thanks again LOGAN. I look forward to buying the Kook's set-up.;)

Yep Yep... The 18's are quite a bit quieter. They have 22's too that would put you at about stock noise levels.

about the 22" ones. I wasn't aware of that. In that case I'll keep that in mind when I call Nick again to place my order. it sounds like the 18" ones will be perfect for me since I do want the car a little bit louder. But I'm pleased to hear that Kook's obviously has plenty of options for me as far as how loud or quiet I want the car to be.

I think the 18's are for you. I've had the 18's before and they are a few db's louder than stock, but no where near as loud as mine.

I'm in love.

Especially with the part where the car settles to the slow idle a few seconds after startup. Damn, my wife's gonna divorce me if I do this to the car...

don't worry. Cuz if she does divorce you then tell her that I'll be installing the 18" mufflers that are a little quieter, and that way me and her can be happy together:D :D

Mr. Exhaust Pro, and we're all set for next week to finish the job with the headers and exhaust. The UPS tracker says the header bolts are on the delivery truck. I've got my new tips for the back and have decided to take the entire stock exhaust system off and store it and have everything redone.

I've done something a little more "trick" than everyone else though and will hold out until the pictures and sound bite is complete.

Man, all I can say is I am one excited puppy! Quick, get me to the door before I pee on everything in site...

logan, you also have the baffleless tips too right? I was wondering if you kept those on and got the 14's what it would sound like? jeeze, too many options!

The Meg's tips are sold exclusively through Innovative Interceptors, with or without the resonators.
