Come up with a reasonable price and some pics on it and I will fire off the funds. They closed whole systems out at a little more than that price.

Please show us some pics of everything you have. I can identify what is missing and give folks leads and suggestions on what to use.

If someone buys this kit I will provide all the technical assistance I can. It would be great to see another turbo MM on the road!!!!

There is no one on this site currently that knows more about turbo'ed MMs than Juno. Anyone who's considering buying this please consult with him first.

Thanks for the plug Jim!!! :o

Todd is also another great source of info. He helped me immensely with advice during my purchase and install.

I did look at the pics in the PM I got and replied:

It appears to have all the piping and such.
This is the decription from the old website. I highlighted the items you asked about.

Dual 4 into 1 Tubular Mild Steel Headers w/ 1/2" laser Cut Header Flanges, 2 ½" Cross Over w/ Flex Connection, 3" Down Pipe that splits into Dual 2 ¼" ( Trademark ) to factory exhuast, Powder Coated Inlet Tubes, All V Band Connections, High Quality Silicone hoses w/ Aircraft Grade SS clamps. Lightning MAF.
Turbosmart 38mm Billet Wastegate, 12 psi By-Pass Valve, 3 Core Air/Air Bar & Plate Intercooler, Polished Silver or Satin Black 2000* Ceramic Coating and much more!
This kit INCLUDES a Garrett/Precision T-64E( 700hp Max Efficiently ),

*42 lbs injectors and a Walbro High Volume Fuel Pump. (did not order these. I went with 60's, GT fuel pump, and changed to a SCT 2400 MAF during tuning)

What you are missing is the turbo, wastegate, BOV, MAF, fans (VERY IMPORTANT. I have had no cooling issues with mine. Everyone who went with something different has had issues)

I paid 4700 for my kit minus the asterisked items. This kit does not have those either.

I will provide a link to my install in the thread.

Good Luck!!

Jay

Do the pipes run over or under the aluminum suspension crossmember and do you lose anything such as the AC?

Todd

Do the pipes run over or under the aluminum suspension crossmember and do you lose anything such as the AC?

Just to answer for him.....

They run under but the point where they do is at the wheels so if you go over speedbumps etc they cant hit.

Also, it is no lower than some other items that hang down under the car including the air foil or whatever it is called in the front of the car.

Somewhere I posted a pic from the front of the car and you can not see the pipes. They are oval tubes and tight to the crossmember. And if you hit them, you have much bigger problems.

No, you dont loose anything. But you have to be creative with selection of cooling fans for the radiator.

DTUB
11-24-2009, 02:48 PM
Todd, I see you still have your AC. Do you have the same type of kit thats for sale here? Because looking at the pics from JUNO and NTD the main tube going to the turbo looks like it go's over the crossmember where the AC compressor resides. I'm thinking of buying this kit but I'm alittle stumped here. Do you or anyone have any pic's of where this tube actually goes? Help needed!

Yes Todd and Juno have the same kit that i have ... Todd has given me alot of info on the turbo thing so have Juno .. The main tube from the turbo does go under the cross member HERE IS THE LINK THAT SHOWS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE UNDER THE CAR http://www.forcedinductions.com/MercuryPTK.htm

The kit does not eliminate the A/C. The pipe goes near, but not in place of the any factory parts.

There is a pipe that goes OVER the crossmember near the starter that carries the exhaust after it has been combined from each head up to the turbo.

They give you some of that heat shielding to go over the starter. If it isnt in the kit here (I havent looked at the pics in detail yet), you can get it from any speed shop. they make universal stuff that would wrap around it or there are started specific kits as well.

Here is the pic from PTK. You do not lose anything. The PS cooler and reservoir do have to be moved slightly though. If I had the cash I would buy the piping just to have spares!

Damn I wish i could jump on this but I have repairs that need addressing first. If you were interested I might be able to trade a stage 5 Eaton, a set of Kooks headers, the mid-pipes to the input of the mufflers and work out the difference. God my wife will kill me if she reads this.....

What can I say I would love to hear the sounds of a waste gate at WOT coming form under the hood. If I had seen he had dropped the price a month ago I would have skipped a couple of the items I did recently.

I would just have to park the MM for a couple months while I got all the other parts together. I would also be more than willing to help with the install.

The only difference is I'm not sure if your girl will stab you like I think my wife will.

oh well "C'est la vie", though I would try at least. Might be able holler at you soon if it is still available.

Might give you a holler when I come up to Jacksonville in a month or so just to take a look at it if you still have it. The wife and I are planning to visit my Mom who lives in that area for a weekend and wouldn't mind meeting up with you and Landy along with a couple other MM owners up there while I'm in town.

So the way I want to go, just something about the sound of a them and the way they run through the power band.

Been wondering if I could fab something up while still using the Kooks headers, just don't think they could take the heat and I don't know how to weld. :( want to take classes....

If I decide to go thru with this, it will most likely sit in the basement for some time. As for the headers, I would be a little worried about copywright infringements. I have read that one of the primaries hits the steering arm bolt, changing that a tad is redesigning right? LOL

My biggest worry here is finances for the right tune. I have a good place in mind, but not sure how bad they would rape me.

the kit at 2000 k is well worth it if your looking for a Turbo on the MM,the only issue I have it's not SS vs mild steel,I really don't like the way the exhaust goes under the factory aluminum front suspension.
I think the over flow bottle could use a bracket to keep it up right as well.

Good luck with the sale.

I have decided to not go with this set up because honestly 1)I know NOTHING about turbo's 2) To complete this kit it would cost an additional easy $2500 on up and we could not agree on a price. 3) I was hoping to slide out from the Trilogy into this, and that is not going to happen at the prices that I came up with. 4) The tuning price still scares me. I will say this, he is a great guy with very quick communication. Just the headers alone in this kit certainately is hard to pass up. Unfortionately I just don't have the income right now to pursue this. I have included much better detailed photos for Kariamack in order to help him move this stuff.

On a side note, if you went with rebuilt or used parts, you could put this together on the cheap, however I am done with anything other than new from now on.
