I cracked my Marauder this morning. Lady pulled out onto 14 mile and just STOPPED.
I got the ticket.
Body shop tells me that the bumper ALONE is over $1200
Just shoot me, please?
;)
Sorry to hear this...it's NOT a very prestigious club...
And yes...the front bumper is OVER $1,200...how do I know? I'm a "member".
Don't worry, she'll be as good as new...or you can be like me...and make her BETTER than new, while she's down.

Maybe they think that the government will reimburse them, :bs: thinking that we are undercover or unmarked cars and they can just blame us. Or maybe it's a magnet thing. Who really knows.

God damn body shops. People. The LIST price is over $1200. Don't let dealerships pull this crap.
Call one of our supporting dealers and get your parts at 30% off or better.

Mad4Macs "Just stopping" in front of another car is a trick of some crooks.
If there were any witnesses, try to fight it.
Was just the bumper cover damaged?

Thanks for all the input so far... nah, this is just a "fender bender". I was hard on the brakes, just had nowhere else to go. I hit a middle aged woman driving a CTS, and I'll tell you all here, the CTS took the worse end of the damage. As for the bumper cover, can't rightly say. I'm no mechanic. I did find one shop, though, that didn't think it was too serious, might be a "repair" and not a replacement issue. I'm going to get another opinion on that one.
All I know is that muh baby has got a big dent, and I cannot believe that I didn't get a headlamp punched out in the process.
Thanks, all....

Daytime running lights would help make you more visible?
I also installed the black plastic "deer whistles"... just in case.
Sorry about you rear ender. I did that to an 84 Firebird with a 89 Taurus a few years back ( thinking about work, not driving) The driver ( a pleasant looking young lady:D ) thanked me overe and over for wasting that "piece of crap Pontiac" for her. I paid the ticket.

Deer whistles? What is that?

Well, since I'm no mechanic, I took "Old Dented" to 3 area shops. All 3 stated that the damage appeared minor, and that it might be a "repair" issue instead of a "replacement" issue. All quotes came in below my deductable, so... we'll see how this works out.
Funny, but I've got this Righteous Big Bruise where I can't, for the life of me, remember making any bodily contact with anything.
As for Deer whistles, how 'bout Dennis come up with some "Old Folks" whistles?

Welcome to the club! I hit a BMW stopped dead on the highway last April. Hit him going about 50mph. Glad yours doesn't seem to be as bad as some of us here have had. I too paid the ticket.

They're actually better at humming..
Seriously, small little black widgets that emit a high pitch (out of human hearing range) sound when air is forced through them. They warn and scare away deer that might be considering jumping into your path.
Usually they are about the size of a small lighter, and are stuck to a part of your car (bumper, roof, radiator inlet) with double sided 200mph tape.

Just don't install them backwards, or you'll have deer following you around everywhere.

Kinda like if you read the Bible backwards, it's about a guy that shows up at everyones parties and eats all their food...
