My basic one that came with the kit is apparently another one of the weak links we have come across.
Holding a hand over it at WOT...yes, it is functioning properly, bit it is to its max potential at this time.

According to my tuner, and Vortech's website:
"High-flow Mondo Valves (550+ CFM@10 PSIG) are recommended for applications creating more than 12 PSIG..."

Does Vortech still offer the Race bypass?
Then I think the next step up is the Mondo bypass.
At least thats the way that I remember it,
but they might have discontiued the race bypass by now in favor of the mondo.

It turns out that I don't really need this item at this point.

However, from my understanding, it makes a really cool sound when it vents after boost. Basically an un-neccesary, but cool mod at this point.

Sooo...I'll just leave this thread open and someday perhaps someone will need to get rid of one.;)

Super cool. On factory adjustment sounds like darth vader on 'roids.

Adjusted down it has a similar sound to the smaller turbo blow off valves but WAY louder and more authoritative.

When I rev and let it de-spool NO-ONE wants a piece of me!

I have mine in blow through so I vent to atmosphere before the cooler in the area behind the fog light on the passenger side. Previously, I had it wide open after the cooler in the same place on the driver's side.

Give Dennis (HotRauder - the original) a shout. He really likes it!

im saving up to get the water to air kit from reinhart and yes i want the blow through set up. it just raised my curiousity when you wrote what it sounded like. i also figured that a sound clip would make it easier on cruztaker to make his decision. little things like that usually make it easier to decide what they really want. so no big deal everything is cool.:beer:
