What oil do you run in your MM?Which do you prefer?I've been using Amsoil and it seems to be pretty good. Some say it quiets down their engine and some say it lowers the temp.I think it's a great oil to switch to if your not set on one type of oil for your beast. You can get 7,500 mile,25,000 mile, or 35,000 mile oil and it's all synthetic.I am an authorized Amsoil dealer so if you're interested let me know and I can give you my link to check out all the prices and good deals. They not only sell motor oil but motorcycle oil, power steering fluid, rear end fluid, etc.

Careful trying to plug your product here, man. I know they do a 'paid vendor' sort of thing here. Talk to Mary, she's super nice and helpful!
I've never used Amsoil, but I've never heard anything bad about it... Then again, I don't really own a car that would warrant synthetic oil (1995 Grand Marquis)... or do I?
Also, do everyone that reads your posts a favor, please.

I run mostly Motorcraft but will steer to other name brands on an occasion.
I would rather know the filter is being changed on a regular basis too.
The Marauder is going on 83K, 53K on a reman long block.

Yes, it reduces friction between your sentences and improves the life of your post. ;)
General concensus here over the years has been to use a good, quality oil of your choice/preference and change it out a regular intervals.
Owners here tend to prefer Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W-20, Mobil 1, Mobile 1, Moble 1, Mobal 1 full synthetic, Amsoil, Royal Purple, and other quality oils.
I have personally used the Motorcraft 5W-20 blend for some 6 years and am very happy with its performance with regular 3K changes.

Yeah - I've been known to use AMSOIL. Nice pure Group 4, the gear oil doesn't need FM either.
New Severe Gear 75W-110 Synthetic Gear Lube from AMSOIL
http://www.amsoil.com/articlespr/2007/images/SVT-Quart.jpg SVT AMSOIL INC. of Superior, WI has announced the addition of 75W-110 Severe Gear Synthetic Gear Lube to its strong line of AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic Gear Lubes. AMSOIL Severe Gear Synthetic Gear Lubes feature an exclusive blend of high viscosity, shear stable synthetic base oils and an extra treatment of high-performance additives. They are engineered to protect gears better than conventional gear oils, resisting acid, carbon and varnish formation and oxidative breakdown.
The new viscosity gear lube grade that fills the gap between the 75W-90 and 75W-140 viscosity gear lubes that most people are accustomed to using. Many used the 75W-140 to obtain extra film protection beyond what the 75W-90 viscosity grade offered for their differentials, but found that they sacrificed fuel economy by doing so. This new viscosity grade, 75W-110, offers a high temperature film protection beyond what a 75W-90 offers, without compromising fuel economy. This new mid-range viscosity grade for gear lubes addresses performance, protection and fuel economy.

I haven't realy heard any BAD things about other oil's either I just have had good experience with amsoil so far. Even after 35,000 miles the oil doesn't come out black, still pretty clean. And they do recommend changing the filter (if you use their filter) every 25,000 miles and just top off the oil if you go with the 35,000 mile.

Motorcraft for my M.M.
Used amsoil and mobil 1, they are both overpriced.
Use super tech full synthetic in my other vehicles and it performs well.

I have used every oil under the sun, and I have never noticed a difference in any aspect in any car. Maybe if I ran a car 200k miles and tore the engine down I might have some data to go on but I never keep a car that long and I change the oil frequently enough. The only reason I run full synthetic is for extended drain intervals.

I generally run Amsoil, but will run Mobil 1 if I don't have any and need it quick.
I also use only the following 2 filters:
Motorcraft: FL820S
Napa (Gold): 1372
I've been doing that since I bought the car with 46K on it.

I was running Amsoil until their price went up (I get mine at cost from a shop next to my work). They use it in all of the vehicles they work on along with their 9 sec drag cars. The only bad thing I have heard about Amsoil is people wish it was sold in retail store and a little bit cheaper other than that it's good stuff.
