Before you all get "stabby" with me. I have read all threads I could find on the subject.
I know what a 300A is (both years) and what equipment they have. However, what I cannot find is this:
Out of the 7094, 2003 model cars. How many where build before the 300B changes came along. And what month did the change come into effect?
Put on your thinking caps and I will see you next Thursday morning in Metamora for a personal stabbing if you wish.

I have an '03 300B and my build date is 10 January 2003 and #69 of 328 Blues. Production sequence number 6,587 of 7,839 '03s/11,052 total.
My guess is that the run of 300B's probably started around November 2002. I don't think that I have ever seen a formal transition date. Maybe RoyLPita can give some insight into this. The transition between 300A to 300B is a little fuzzy because there were cars that came out with a mixture of 300A and 300B features. Maybe someone with one of these "Pre-Decontented" cars can fixed the A to B transition timing a little closer.

Thanks. I guess I am really looking for the quantity of 03-300A's (in black) just for my own curiosity.
Someone once told me there were only 2500 or so 03-300A's before they made the transition. That seems about right if they produced the 03's up until september 03 to start the 04 line.

300A started to convert to 300B during October, 2002. It was generally completed by November sometime.

Cruzer has a mixed content car & he can tell you more about them. Seems like he said there were 16 or so. Don't know.

So far, this is what we know from this thread and some research ....

9/6/02 #4770 '03 MM 300A
9/17/02 #4916 '03 MM 300A
10/18/02 #5595 '03 MM 300A
11/4/02 #xxxx '03 MM 300B (pre-decontented car - "martyo")
11/11/02 #5945 '03 MM 300B (pre-decontented car - "2003_MM_Fyre49")
11/12/02 #xxxx '03 MM 300B (pre-decontented car - "Cruzer")
12/5/02 #6227 '03 MM 300B (pre-decontented car - Roc's Merc")
1/10/03 #6587 '03 MM 300B (#69 of 328 Blue MMs -- all Blues are 300B)

Looks like the 300A to 300 B switchover occurred in early November 2002 between sequence numbers 5595 and 5945. Marty's car and Cruzer's car came with a chrome bezel around the shifter lever.

How can I tell what sequence number my car was? I am pretty sure it was built on 8/21/02 but I don't know the sequence number.
The radiator cover had some writing on it in paint pen:

M3038
8-21-02
109

Thanks.

BTW, 7094 is the number of 2003 MMs in black. 7839 is the number of total MM's for 2003.

Ozz, I saw that Superchips stopped making the 1725 and 1825 (with radiator fan control). Were they any good?

88LTDCV351,
I have nothing to compare it to but the 1725 definitely helps with low end grunt. I assume a Lidio or Reinhart custom tune would be better but for a 'poor man's - out of the box' tune, I am happy with it.
