:dunno:......Link is a fake video of some dork recieving a 'wood shampoo'....:dunno:

The Church of the Holy Donut Cruise is still in Burtonsville on Sunday mornings, although the original parking lot where it was held is now closed.
It is now in a parking lot on the east side of Route 29.

Well,
It was a beautiful day and I had a great morning ride over to the Holy Donut cruise!
I pulled into the lot and backed in next to a nice looking Galaxie 500.
When I got out of the Cobra I see this on the fender of the Galaxie!!

WOW!!

I look under the hood and see this beast:

A 427 CAMMER!....:bows: (with a stroker crank and a complete rebuild on the OEM unbored engine)
Frank, who owned it was a great guy to hang out with and talk FE Fords.
He bought a 67 Galaxie with the CAMMER and a toploader in it for $550 back in 1975.
I asked him if he wanted to trade engines....he said; "I love the Cobra's engine.....but.....No."

So this engine in your pics is from 1975? Got any pics of the whole car?

Sorry, I only took the photos that I posted.

The 427 SOHC/'CAMMER' engine was never offered in a production FORD vehicle.
It was developed to combat the Chrysler 426 Hemi in NASCAR competition.
Chrysler cried like babies, so NASCAR banned the 427 SOHC from competition.
It is the only engine ever banned from NASCAR competition.

It was a crate engine offered in the mid 60's through FORD dealer Parts Depts.

This particular engine was installed by Dave Pyles LM dealership back in 1968 after a customer blew his 428 Cobra Jet motor.
Instead of rebuilding the 428 CJ, the dealership offered a good deal on a CAMMER engine that they had sitting around in a crate
that they couldn't sell!....:eek:
They did the install of the SOHC including a set of crude headers.
The original purchaser got tired of fouling the plugs on the CAMMER engine while commuting to work....:eek:......and eventually sold the entire car to Frank for $550 back in 1975.
Frank liked earlier model Galaxies, so he kept the rearend, Toploader transmission and the SOHC engine, then sold the '67 Galaxie body.

They are nasty beasts!

1x4bbl = 616 HP @ 7,000 rpm
2x4bbl = 657 HP @ 7,500 rpm

This is to cool Joe! That motor is worth a lot of dough today and hard to find original. It is a show stopper where ever one shows up! Thanks for the pictures!
