Air compressor cycle question

I just bought an 03 marauder and curious to know how often the air compressor should cycle when functioning properly. Also, should it ever cycle while driving? I haven't noticed any problems with my suspension but it does not always cycle when I crank it and it cycles sometimes while I am driving. Thanks for the help.

usuall if you dont hear an air release immediately after you close your door, it wont release. Meaning, when you restart your car it will already be at the correct height with you in it (if it hasn't been too long). Also, for me, the compressor kicking on sometimes while driving is normal.

I would think after the initial pumpup after starting if the compresssor cycled on again it would indicate a leak in the system.
