I got new 3 1/2 non-res tips, magna-flows and rear cat's delete done today. And it has a AWESOME sound to her. Real low grumble, never raspy, deep v8 tone. But its not loud enough for me, even at WOT. What should i do now other then headers? Will the vortech make it louder?

Yes the blower will make it louder

that was maybe 3 years ago, it's the setup you have plus a blower

Matt.....

Give it a little time as the Magnaflows get louder the more you use them!!

I've had mine 4 years and they are almost too loud for me...NO DRONE but they do talk!!:D

BTW, I have the 18's!!:bandit:

Not familiar with "Quick Flows" but my 18's are straight through also and got louder in a month or so......give it time before you cut them out!!

Give them some time, if still not happy get a full exhaust system (LT headers, 1 pair of magnaflow high-flow cats, all 2.5 Mandrel bent piping from front to rear)

agreed they do get louder, with the blower and the power and then the headers and 3" exhaust and the magnaflows being 4 years old I had to go to some dynomax superturbos to try and quiet it down.
It was pretty nuts volume wise once the headers and such went on, in the video it was just 1 set of cats stock magnaflows etc.

Were you manually shifting it? I heard it hit the rev limiter between 1st & 2nd and 2nd & 3rd. I think you would have had a better time if it wouldn't have hit the rev limiter. I've found it best to just leave it in drive.

you want to put on a centrifugal S/C to make your exhaust louder? what the hell?

magnaflow's arent the loudest muffler, why didnt you get SLP's or aero's if you wanted obnoxious

I ordered Aeros and they never came in, so i said f-it and went to my muff guy and he swore on the magna's. I didnt want it flowmaster obnoxious, just wanted my low rumble a little louder.

Yeah, With exhaust cutouts, you can bypass the mufflers and cats and have all the noise a Marauder can make.

I don't know why it happens but I put my old set of flowmaster super 40's on my CV. With the car in the shop the mechanic couldn't hear the car running and grind-ed the gears in the starter (engaged the starter while the engine was running). Then recently I had a neighbor walk by and compliment me on the sound the car made. So give it time, you'll hear it.

Brand new Magnaflows are VERY quiet when first installed. If you drive your MM daily, don't spend money to change anything for about a month - then reevaluate. They take time to break in.

This time a year when it start's to get colder in the North, ya I know it doesn't help you being in Texas but, my exhaust always get's louder just with the full stock set up.

I can't wait to see how loud it get's with the headers and cat's on.

But it seems like little by little the stock mufflers are getting louder on me since the headers almost like the bafflels are comming appart inside of them. It sounds great but just seems to be odd the amount of change after the headers and cat's went on and the ongoing change the sound is making as time goes by.

So what everyone else has said works for me. Give your system time to break in and see what happens before spending any more money on something else. Unless your rich and don't care about the cost.

Remove the two rear cats, the car has 4 cats and they quiet the exhaust.

To add to the thread:

My Magnaflow cats were partially clogged due to the blowedup motor.
I hollowed them out and ordered new ones.
Ran the car with just the hollow cats and the magnaflow 18's....

sounded like azzzzzzzz and was obnoxiously loud.

New cats on last night..... much much much better.

I use my cutouts only when Iam messing around with someone say at a stop light. I will open them up and it freaks people out and I get a good laugh!!
