Hello all, for those of you who have not met me, your lucky, for those that have sorry too late!:D I am the proud owner of Kenny Brown #8 and what a car she is. As Rich Long tells me he hates that whistle sound. I met a lot of nice people at Hershey and hopefully some new and lasting friends. They all made my wife and me really happy that we went. Hope to meet the rest of you some day for I have learned a lot about the car since I started reading these posts sometime earlier this year. I signed on under a different name back in March. I was dropped by Logan in his infinite wisdom:alone: due to inactivity. No hard feelings I deserved it. No I just have to stay out of trouble and not :flamer: anyone!!! RF Overlord I think My posts are in the double digits now I think I'm safe for awhile. Ok, now who uses 10w-30, 5w-20 or what is the Best oil to use???

Gordon....Glad to have met you and your wife at Hershey also. There were a great bunch of guys and gals there. Now for oil, it's a personnal choice. Mine's serviced every 5K by my local FMC dealer. As the car is a daily driver, it's serviced every 30-45 days, so I run the 5K service interval. It's just not worth my time and effort to get under the car and do the wrenching when Ford can do it for under 30 bucks. By the time I purchase the oil and filter, well, it's just not worth it. Having said that, FMC services with the oil recommended in the owners manual, 5W-20.

Don't know how you can stand that constant whinning from under your hood.;)
I'd like to talk about tires with you though, Chris says you got some.

Good to have met you Gordon!

AAAAAHHHH! Another oil thread!!!!

Seriously, the board is pretty much split between using the factory recommended 5W-20, which is a synthetic blend, and a full synthetic 5W-30, such as Mobil 1. As long as you use a change interval that is appropriate for your driving, and use a quality filter (the majority seems to prefer the Motorcraft FL-820S), then you can't really go wrong with either oil...I would NOT use 10W-anything, although since your motor is a bit more modded than most of ours, you might want to check with KB and get their opinion...
