ok, i took the crankshaft pulley out, then used the rtv like i was told, changed the WP pulley good.
when installing the steeda UD pulley back, i tight it untill the crank started to turn then stopped. (with hand tools)
is it ok like that?
do i have to torque it to a certain number?
or get an impact when i get to my job tomorrow and tight it more?
:help::help:
thanks

The Manual say to tighten the bolts in 4 stages
1. tighten to 90Nm (66 lb-ft)
2. loosen te bolt one full turn
3. tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft)
4. tighten an additional 90 degrees.

well i had to do it all my self without help.
i took out the tty bolt that was supposed to be replaced, then i installed and torqued the new oem bolt that i bougth from ford.
i screwed in the puller bolts, then with pry bar in between, against the floor torqued to manual specifications.
i noticed the crank was starting to turn on the way to 66 pounds of torque and bendin the puller bolts right before it hit 66, i did the rest of what the manual said then putt everything back together.
went test drove it good. that was yesterday. today in the morning i was on he way to the barber shop, i decide it to go wot and it felt like it missed before 2nd gear.
need help with that.
could it be because the crank turned?

strange, never had that happen when i had them. what exactly do you mean it "it missed"? missed the shift? then engine was missing?
LANDY

it sounded like it hit the rev limiter then it shifted.

you have a hand held tuner correct? try changing the shift mph of the 1-2 shift. should be able to back it down by 7mph max but just try a few to start
LANDY

ok ill try that. in a little while.
LANDY

well i did backed 2mph first.
nothing.
then tryed 4mph.
still went all the way to 6300rpm missed then shifted.
read up on post #16 then see if i did something wrong.

install shouldnt matter for your problem. sounds like the tune is commanding the shift to late? what is the rev limiter set to?

6300rpm, i also backed 2nd to 3rd shift 2mph and it no longer shifts @ 6200rpm now it does it at 6000rpm.

hmmm im not the best when it comes to this type of thing. im hoping others will chime in. for ***** n giggles, you should try baking it down the full 7mph and see what happens.

You did put the KEY in correctly with the new pulleys, right? You HAVE to have the key in the slot between the pulley and the crankshaft!!! A little high temp rtv in key slot also!

i think if a person cannot get the pulley where it belongs. that person should not be picking up a wrench.

kinda off question, but is there a substatial difference in the amount of time it takes the motor to pick up and drop revs with the UDPs on now?

BluGruv, I wouldn't use the word "substantial", but there is a definite improvement in throttle response...the motor just seems to spool up faster...I'm not aware of any effect on decel...
