Yes, I read the posts on changing the gas filter. As I was changing mine I broke one of the plastic clips. So I thuoght about eliminating the S curve & plastic clips all to gether but I didn't have a tube bender or flare equipment. I had I friend pick up a single plastic clip at the local Mercury dealer. The cost was $7.67. I do believe in mark up but that's insane. What was the most ridiulous price you paid for a given item ?
I work at a dealership in 4 years I have only seen one cabin air filter for a Mercury Villager sold. I sold one today part was $90.00 plus $47.00 labor:eek: I felt bad that they bought it, if it was my car I would have taken it out and thrown it away. I wish I could find a picture if you see it you would guess it would be worth $30.00 tops.

Don't remember exactly the price, but don't break the tabs off the little square cover that clips on the door panel to cover that one hidden screw. OUCH.

other than body parts (front and rear bumpers) Im gonna guess that the gauge cluster (a real MM one) from a dealership probably isnt gonna be cheap

i picked up a cluster on Ebay for $160.00 but I suspect a new from dealer would be expensive

Worst cost ratio HAS to be:
The 8 inch long wire harness (just 2 wires and 2 connectors) that connects the foglight to the body harness.
$173.65 PER SIDE!!!!

i would have to agree with that, went on vacation 2 years ago to florida first day there i was setting at the hotel getting checked in and the fan started making all kinds of noise and when i got it out it had a crack in the ring around the blade and this is on a sunday, so the next morning i called the local dealership and they said they had 1 and when i got there to pick it up they had 5 on hand now i know it is used on several cars but really it must be a piece of junk to stock 5 at one dealership and at a cost of $450.
what a way to start a vacation.

Back when I first bought my Marauder I paid $400 for a headlight assembly. Ordered from Detroit and installed.

Replacement engine. I paid 2200 for it and that was CHEAPEST one I could find with acceptable mileage on it. I could have gotten one for 1600 but it had 115k on it. 2200 dollars got me one with 37k on it, I think that's a good for 600 bucks.
