Josh, aka #4# was involved in a Motorcycle accident a couple of nights ago and is currently in the hospital, and may be for several days more.

Josh was riding his bike with his G/F Bridgette when a Ford Explorer turned in front of them.

Josh told me last night he had no time to stop, and tried getting around the truck when he struck the bumper.

Both him and Bridgette were thrown from the bike after impact.

Bridgette is sc***** and banged up a bit while Josh underwent surgery yesterday suffering from a broken femur bone in his left leg.

Expected time off work is at least a couple of months and does have a steel rod in his leg.

As of last night, he was at University of Louisville Hospital.

Please send prayers his way that the both of them have a speedy recovery.

Thanks,

Mike.

Will keep Josh and Bridgette in my thoughts and prayers. I remember meeting him at the Louisville meet at the German Restaurant. He explained how he took the "#4#" screenname.

I spoke to Josh last night after leaving the office and he did get on his feet for a short period yesterday.

He appreciates all the prayers and support being sent, and will keep me in the loop as he progresses.

Thanks,

Mike.

Thank you so much for all of the prayers i believe that god has not only helped us after the accident but during it also. I am currently typing this from my home in my bed with my beautiful girlfriend (bridgett) sitting right beside me doing her home work for tomorrows classes(sleeping by the time i was done writing it). I am still in a decent amount of pain but am very relieved that my gf broke no bones and is only sc***** up and bruised. We were both wearing helmets at the time of the crash. She finally understands why i would never let her on my bike without wearing pants shoes and a helmet.

some of you may remember us from this years louisville meet i wasn't there for the whole event due to work i owned the 300b black with the move over decal on the windsheild and won the first game of left right center i also made it to the german resturant before the meet

so here's the run down of the actual accident (its a book thankfully not a tragedy)

It was the first accident of any kind i had ever been in and its super weird how time stands still but it all happens so fast

I scored a couple tickets saturday threw work (Mercedes) for the Concours d ' Elegance at churchill downs on sunday. We were on the way to the event at around 1:30pm traveling north on preston highway on my dropped streched raked 1015cc vance and hines sidewinder hard strutted 73 kawasaki z1 drag/streetbike when a ford explorer headed south bound started to make a east bound turn with me approx 2 car lengths away from him (the road is two lanes on each side with a turn lane in the center so 5 lanes wide) he appeared to be stopped as i was approaching the stoplight which was green(confirmed with multiple witnesses). my gf says i was i the fast lane i thought i was in the slow i was watching his vehicle as i am an extremely defensive driver whenever on my motorcycle and even more so when my gf is riding with i noticed he was starting to turn (he ws stationary first) and did not see me when i was about 2 car lengths away as previously stated i started to grab my front brake quickly exclamed F@ck and realized that there was no way possible to brake my motorcycle from a 35-40ish speed in that distance at which i let off the brake and steered right as much as i could without upsetting the bike handling (built for straigh lines and 1/4mile times only about 4-5 inches of road clearance) trying to hit the least amount of truck as possible we ended up hitting the lf of the late 90s explorers front end sending us flying and my bike on its right side slideing i will always remember the shrieks of horror that came out of my gf as she slid and rolled across the pavement only a few feet from me she slid on the pavement and up a curb onto a sidewalk (witnesses say she hit a aluminum streetlight pole) i was several feet ahead and slid into the driveway entry of a swifty gas station luckily had alot of witnesses and people around us very fast first thing i did as soon as i stop sliding was ripped my helment off and attempted to roll over to locate bridgett at which point i discovered my left leg was broken due to a very sharp piercing pain that i had never experienced in 22yrs of my life as soon as i seen somene around them i yelled at them to check my gf and leave me alone they said she was ok and in better condition than me but was complaining of her legs and arms feeling like they were on fire i screamed out to her multiple times that i loved her that i was sorry and asking her if she was ok some people started to makeshift take care of me and either took the boot off of my damaged left leg or it had fallen off and they supported my neck with it i remember multiple people asking me where i hurt and me answering back just my left leg being broken and in major pain some j@ck*** tryed to pull my left dickies pant leg up to check my leg without my permission at which i screamed at him several obsenites and told him to get away multiple people calling 911 and me asking for any witnesses (one of them confirmed that she was just behind me that the light was green and she had seen everything)to stick around several people felt the need to tell me that it was the most *****ed up thing that they had ever witnessed like it was narly(like they thought it was amazing to have seen in person and cool like watching a huge nascar wreck and cheering) as i still laid on the ground waiting for the first responders i just gave those idoits a wtf look after the first responders got there at one point i looked up to see that a few couples of motorcycle riders had stoped to inspect the seen i i managed to contact my parents that lived approx 2 hrs away and told them to get to louisville that we had been in a motorcycle accident and would be going to the hospital my gfs parents were local and beat us to the hospital we were both sent to U of L mainly due to the condition of my leg it was the longest 5 min ride i've ever been on they had me in a traction assembly to hold my leg straight which was uncofortable i the first place but the ride was also very bumpy and had alot of twist and turns my gf was going to refuse treatment so she could ride with me but i wanted her to get examined for internal injuries and get a clean bill of health i spent several hours recieving xrays and catscans with so many people around me that i couldn't keep track of what was going on i was told my femur (thigh bone) was broken and hat they were going to have to do surgery to place a rod believe its titanium inside of the bone and a few screws i was also told that my hip had been forced out of the socket and fractured a small piece of the socket as it came out they put me to sleep and placed my hip back in the socket placed me in the er with a weight on my leg as traction i was placed in a shared room of which the other occupant was a leo and a suspect that was under home arrest (ankle bracelet)they had placed him in ankle cuffs and hand cuffs anyone could tell that was clearly under the influence of some serious drugs and had a bad abrasion on his head from where im guessing he fell well after waking me and my girlfriend up by arguing with the officer that had nothing to do with his arrest and complaining about what was going on i finally told him he should have been in my shoes and had been hit by a car scheduled for surgery the next morning and not able to get any sleep cause the a-hole beside him wouldn't shut up at which point the leo looked at me agreed laffed and told him to shut up then i got the private er room that they hd promise me earlier in the night just as they were getting ready to roll in what appeared to be a dui suspect escorted by several officers also into my private room thay stopped them and put me in the private room and put him with the other person destined for jail next morning i had surgery to place rod in femur to which i thankfully don't remember but went smoothly got my room upstairs monday morning had some physical therapy tuesday and much pain which they finally released me from this afternoon at around 3pm at which point i got to ride home siting sideways in the backseat of the marauder which is now owned by my parents ( i bought a 98 volvo v70r its a turbo awd stationwagon sleeper) since i know have a house i needed to get rid of some other payments but im glad its still in the family and have fist dibs if it ever goes back up on the market

I am truely thankful that everything turned out for the best so far all thing sconsidered

please keep me and my gf bridgett in your prayers as we fight thru the recovery system together im going to have a long 3 month's ahead of me

THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS

Josh,

Glad to hear you two are back in your crib and resting. I am sure you are getting better sleep than in the hospital where the nurses wake you up to give you a sleeping pill.

:D

Give Bridgett my best and if you are up to it, I'll pop over sometime on a weekend and hang out for a while.

Take care of that leg and hope you have a speedy recovery.

I still laugh out loud when you told me the other day you felt like you were hit by a truck.

Mike.

a. so true they would wake me up at 4 am every morning for bloodtest

b. not sure exactly what you were going for there... no strenuous physical exercise that i'll enjoy anytime soon ;) basically the front end of that explorer delivered a much unwanted and painful vow of celibacy with extreme prejudice

(temporary lets hope)

c. thats fine come over and meet my parents have you seen my house yet?

d. I swear the next person that i hear use the expression "i feel like i've been hit by a truck" im just going to go o really tell me about the time you got hit by a truck... or maybe what kind of truck?

Glad to hear you and Bridgett are on the mend Josh!

yeah bridgett got the easiest of it although one of the solid aluminum foot pegs took a big chunk out of her left shin she's already back to school and work im stuck on bed rest go back mon the 28th for a check up glad that she was ok and not stuck in bed here beside me in pain we would kill each other if we were stuck 24-7 for that long.

Hope all is well with you charlie. Sold my marauder to my parents now that i have a house i needed to free up some cash and eliminating the marauder payment did that. Picked up a hot little turbo awd volvo wagon should be some fun this winter. Its a blacked out sleeper also :) but if marauder ever goes back on marker i've got first dibs on it was really sad initially but once boost was upped on wagon i was satisfied.
