View Full Version : Aftermarket exhaust tips anyone?

I need to replace mine and I think I would like to go with the originals, but I know some of us have aftermarket tips. What do you have? Let's see some pictures. Also how well have they been holding up?

I have found in the past few years Ford parts outlast anything aftermarket, so I am a little hesitiant on a product outside of Ford... especially if it'll be seeing all types of weather.

I've got aftermarket tips on mine that have no resonators. They look like the originals, but are 2" shorter. I had my local muffler shop order them and put them on. They've been on the car since I've had it and still look great. I only paid $50 for the shop to put them on. I believe they charged me wrong, but I ain't complaining. The shop extended the tips slightly past the bumper.

i have the ones Wes sells, 4in. i think magnaflow makes em? anyway they look great

I've got Megs 4" res-delete tips from Wes.

Installed them with bolt up flanges so that I can switch back to the stock tips if desired.

i got 3.5 inch magnaflow tips. I have a set of 4 inch megs i would be willing to sell for $100

SHould ask why are you needing new tips the Megs tips on our cars are Stainless Steel, so rust shouldn't reallly be an issue or are yours banged up? Just wanting res deletes?

Anyhow, check out fle-online.com. IIRC, Click under tips and then Magnaflow. They also have a wide range of exhuast components as well. Prices are resonable and last time I ordered, any order over 75.00 was free shipping.

your factory exhaust tips arent "ford" tips, they are megs....


contact wes, he sells 3.5" and 4" res delete tips that are 4" shorter than factory but look the same none the less

Dom,I've got the Magnaflow tips on my MM and have had them on almost since I got the car,you can check them out any time you want.
BTW,mine were $129 for the pair installed tax and everything at Iggy's Mufflers on Montrose just west of Harlem.

I have one of these(97-5495C) on my explorer, and looks alot like the OEM tips on the MM, just no where near as long. And at a fraction of the cost

I'm hoping for Cone Engineering to do the OEM style 4" Megs (res. deletes). But would prolly do the stainless exhaust at the same time......so I can wait.;)

man that grand mar is beautiful!!!! i have an 01 and am trying to get it as close to a sport look as possible. also trying to beef up the performance. did you put gears in that lady or are the stock. im guessing you did. also what kind of chip did you tune it with. i just put the Marauder tips on her with true dual's. so i'm on my way just wanna go in the right direction. thank's.. I got the Magnaflow 4" - 2 inches shorter so we welded extensions on them. I paid $50 for the pair with free shipping. Don't remember where I got them but found them through a web search. You can find the stock number on the Magnaflow website.
