Hey guys. -MM-Matt and I just finished up his remote start on his 03. I thought I'd post some info about the installation i.e. wire color info and relay information. We installed the VIPER 5701 Responder LE (http://www.viper.com/P-5202V/Viper-5701-Responder-Le-2-way-Security-And-Remote-Start-System). We also decided to add a motion sensor and extra sirens for more protection. We will be shooting a video of the features and operation of this particular system tommorrow. We will post it as an extension to this guide.

YOU WILL NEED AN IMMOBILIZER BYPASS MODULE FOR THIS VEHICLE! There are several bypass modules for this vehicle. We used the XPresskit PKALL module (http://www.bypasskit.com/product.aspx?prodid=PKALL). If you have any specific questions about installation of these modules, let me know and I'll help you figure it out.

It is highly recommended you test each wire. This guide is 100% reliable but It's always thing to get into the habit of testing.

Some terminology and phrasing will be confusing to a lot of people. If you have any questions at all, PM me and I will help you understand what's going on. Relays can also be tricky to install if you've never dealt with them.

Also, if you think of anything I should add to this guide, let me know!

(+) 12 Volts - Brown & Lt. Green

Ignition harness.
You can use either wire. You don't need both but, I used both since I had a lot of wires that required 12 volts.
(+) Starter - Red/Lt. Blue

Ignition harness.
(+) Ignition - White/Yellow

Ignition harness.
(+) Accessory - Gray/Yellow & Black/Lt. Green

Ignition harness.
You WILL need both wires. Most remote starters have only ONE accessory wire. However they do have a small output accessory wire just in case you run into more than 2 accessory wires. You will have to install a relay, as the output of the auxiliary accessory is not enough to power the vehicle's accessory system.
(+) 2nd Accessory - Pink/Black

Ignition harness.
You will also need this accessory wire. Most remote starters have what's called a FLEX wire. This wire can be programmed to any number of wires from 2nd Ignition, 2nd Starter and 2nd Accessory. You will need to program it to 2nd Accessory. You WILL need all three accessory wires.
(+) Power Lock - Pink/Yellow

Passenger kick panel.
This is the best place to find this wire. You CAN find it on the drivers side but, the hood release and parking brake make it almost impossible to get to. Find at passengers side and extend it to the drivers side.
(+) Power Unlock - Pink/Lt. Green

See Power Lock.
(-) Parking Lights - White/Black

At LCM - Pin 13, gray 16 pin plug.
The LCM (Lighting Control Module) is to the right of the steering column. There are three plugs. These plugs are a PAIN in the arse if you leave the LCM bolted in. Drop the LCM and unplug. I had to remove the accelerator pedal to get it down but others have had success without doing so. I don't see how.
The accelerator pedal is held in place by 2 13mm bolts. It's easily removed.
(+) Parking Lights - Brown

At LCM - Pin 4, black plug.
The LCM (Lighting Control Module) is to the right of the steering column.
See (-) Parking Lights for LCM details.
(-) Left Front Door Trigger - Dk. Blue

At LCM - Pin 11, gray 22 pin plug.
The LCM (Lighting Control Module) is to the right of the steering column.
Remote starter systems include only 1 door trigger input wire. You MUST diode and isolate each wire in the vehicle.
(-) Pass. Door Trigger - Black/Orange

At LCM - Pin 11, gray 16 pin plug.
The LCM (Lighting Control Module) is to the right of the steering column.
Must diode and isolate.
(-) Trunk/Hatch pin - Brown/White

At LCM - Pin 5, gray 16 pin plug.
The LCM (Lighting Control Module) is to the right of the steering column.
(5wi) Trunk/Hatch Release - Purple/Yellow

In drivers kick, harness to the rear.
You WILL need a relay for this wire. You will need to cut this wire and connect each end to different terminals on the relay.
85 connects to the wire coming from the remote starter unit. 86 and 87 are connected to a 12 volt power source. 87a and 30 connect to the trunk release wire you cut in two. 87a is connected to the vehicles trunk release wire toward the engine. 30 connects to the same wire but, trunk side.
(AC) Tachometer - NOT Red or Red/Lt. Green

Any fuel injector.
You MUST use the tachometer wire. Virtual tachometer is USELESS! Your vehicle will not remote start and stay running without this wire.
(+) Brake Wire - Lt. Green

Brake pedal switch. Wire coming from brake pedal plug.
(-) Horn Trigger - Dk. Blue

Steering column.

Awesome write up Terrence! Its good to be able to share the info that took us hours to decipher and figure out. It will make it a lot easier for the others here. We'll have to put up that video soon of the features and extra security options.

Ditto. At my shop, we have to pay for vehicle specific info. It definitely isn't included.

Right guys, exactly. Terrence and i are both autotech installers. Hence why terrence took his time to do this write-up. The info provided above is tough to get if your not a installer. We thought it would be nice to re-write the info, double check its correct, and give you all the tips we could when we ran into snags on our install. Its all there for you guys at mm.net now, incase you wanted to do it yourself.
