We just had a long term member here trying for weeks to get rid of his perfect condition highly detailed 36,000 mile motor for $1,800 OBO. Seems bad timing around here lately.

this is what i was thininking, no way a blown motor is worth the same as a complete one with less miles.

If the motor ran light on oil, I would check the cam journals to see if they're scored. I had a similar issue, I bought some heads from a motor that ran light. Generally, the cam journals get fubar'd, but this was not the case in my situation. A couple hundred bucks at the machine shop and all is well. Not trying to hijack or disrespect in any way, it might be worth keeping if you can get it fixed for (somewhat) cheap.

It's just that on the modulars the oil goes to the heads first, so if you starve the motor, it is usually the heads that bears the brunt. Again, this is not always the case, just FYI.
I wish you the best of luck.
