This ad is for a 1999 Mazda Miata MX-5. The car is in decent shape with no major rust or body damage. The car has 95,180 miles, but that will change as this is my daily driver. I drive about 50 miles round trip to work. So you can see that will change everyday I drive the car. The interior is clean and the seats are in good shape with no tears or rips. The exterior is called highlight silver and it has black interior. The 5 speed shifts great and the car handles very well. The tires are in very good shape and the brakes still have life left. I actually just bought the car on July 23rd 2009, but due to my wife expecting our first child, I am going to have to sell since it is impractical being a 2 seater. It passed the Maryland state inspection on July 29th, so it should be nothing wrong with it. The A/C was just recharged on July 24th, and it is blowing cold! The car also has a brand new black top with glass window installed, so the new owner would not have to worry about the top for a while. The car is also equipped with an aftermarket radio and brand new 8” 3-way speakers installed in the doors. The car has the stock Mazda wind blocker installed behind the seats.
The Miata is equipped with factory ground effects which include side skirts, front spoiler, rear trunk spoiler, and mud flaps. It does have the Nardi leather wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel. It is also equipped with 14" alloy wheels and power windows. When the top was replaced, I had also replaced the latches with the NA (previous years) latches since they were supposed to have a better locking mechanism to prevent premature opening of the latch. I also replace the door seals which are a problem when the corner seal tears allowing water to get inside.
The car only has a couple issues. The check engine light is on. I had it checked out and it looks like the rear oxygen sensor is bad, and switching too fast, which is tripping the check engine light. I have not gotten around to replacing that yet. But I will include the sensor with the sale of the car. The battery light sometimes comes on, but I had a battery electrical test done, and everything tests out fine. The alternator was showing the voltage to be a little high, but is charging fine. I think when the voltage gets high, that’s when the light comes on.
Other than that, the car is in good shape. The car is definitely reliable, considering I bought it from a dealer in Boston, MA and drove it back to Baltimore, MD with no issues what so ever. And as I stated before, I’m using it as my daily driver too.
Email me with any questions or if you would like to see more pics. DO NOT waste my time with emails saying that you’re out of town and your secretary is going to give me a check. If you have any questions, email me WITH a phone number to discuss. All other emails will just be ignored. I am asking $4000 obo. I will include a copy of the original Carfax that I ran when I purchased the car. The Carfax shows a clean history with no salvage title or problems. Due to insurance purposes, test drives are prohibited. But I can take a potential buyer out if I am driving the car.
I just had the car appraised at Carmax and they will purchase it for within 7 days. So that is why I dropped my price. No reasonable offer will be refused. But the car will only be for sale for 7 days starting 10/15/2009.
