It wasn't to bad, Landy had started removing the passenger side manifold and had midpipes to mufflers in the driveway when I got there. We yanked the rest out and just put the headers on.

Most of the time was spent finessing the hard to access screws in and getting over the minor differences between our sets. His starter went in no problem and I have to pull the solenoid on mine to get it out. Heard the stories but was shocked to see the variances first hand.

He still has plenty of fun left with getting the rest of the pipes installed and the locks on the bolts. Still have to side with the Stage 8 fasteners over the OEM stud/nut setup. The locks are a little bit of a pain but the actual bolt installation is much easier. We both had to cut one bolt down but for different spots.

I'm sure the neighbors loved you with those open headers, bet the ride was blast :burnout:. After this you got to start saving for the TC and trans cooler.

All I did was loosen the 4 bolts under the steering column and the 2 at the fire wall. Then I pulled the column towards the driver side, wedged something to keep it from moving, then I had the wife pull on the steering wheel as I tightened the 4 bolts. I think it was who Fordnut gave me this info in one of my old threads? Another thing would be to trim off the end of the bolt if it rubs.

I still have a minor rub but only when I cut it hard left and get on it through the turn. My column was off center and the cover was actually pressed against the dash toward the passenger side. It is centered now, but I think I could get the last little bit of rub out if I was motivated to push it over some more.

It definitely made a huge improvement on mine. Any left turn and it would grind when I 1st got this MM. Rarely happens now, I love the whole K.I.S.S. approach of fixes like this.
