I just wanted to explain to the members whom a lot I know are sure of, that the economy is having a effect on almost every one but bankruptcy attorneys, let me give you a example I for one cannot afford to stock a lot of parts right now, for example sway bars, normally I just call and have them drop shipped, Addco is just like many company's there not making stock to set on the shelf, there waiting for bulk orders so there is a 3/5 week wait, of course you can call Summit but there is no room for a mark up, control arms are the same issue, Ford is on back order for 8.8 lockers, and the list goes on and on, steel piping has gone up on the IC kit we use, I just hope this next year is better, but in all honesty I do not feel like we will see much of a recovery, I am willing to bet this Christmas will be a slow shopping season, the people that took it hard since October of 08 are very Leary of investing and buying any thing, this is slowing the recovery system. Ford dealer ships are not stocking normally stocked items, so people are waiting days for what should have been a same day repair. So as I said this is being felt all over restaurants ( they just closed three Apple bees here in Jacksonville, even liquor stores are slow as well as dry cleaners, general repair shops as well as large volume dealerships.

I second the slow recovery. Try getting and interview after applying for a job. Then wait weeks to find out if you got the position. :alone::shake::depress:

Or just go around town until you discovered someone needs help because their business is hot. Worked for me. I start tomorrow.

The car dealers in our area have almost nothing on their lots. The local Chrysler store has had a Challenger for several weeks and my guess is they aren't going to sell it anytime soon.

I feel the pain. I run a BS @ a Large Ford dealer and repairs are taking twice as long due to parts waiting! The volume in the BS is way down like 40% from just last year,The only cars we have in for repairs are non driveables, people are taking the ins $ and putting it in the bank and if they have a lien they are applying it to the loan on there car. IT HURTS

RECOVERY. I can't see that for years. The only action being taken by Washington is to make sure that doesn't happen. They are repairing a few roads if you can drive a dump truck or can do road construction.

Recently had work done at a local LM Dealership. I had to prepay & wait a week for delivery on a auto climate control module. One would think they would have this part always kept in stock.
