Maybe a stupid question, but can anyone tell me what the "trunk plates" offered by Troy Products are and what they are for?
Thanks!

They are to prevent someone from pulling the trunk safety release after breaking your passenger side reverse light out. After breaking the reverse light out one can easily reach the safety cable and open your trunk and clean you out.
It was posted that an officer lost his uniforms and several weapons. It's claimed that when opening the trunk with the safety cable the alarm doesn't go off.
Hope that helps.

EbonyMarauder03 -- thanks very much for the info. I'm going to see if I can still get in on the group order.

Yep,
And if the bad guys didn't know about it before...
The video posted by the Sheriff's Dept and Troy Products showing how easy it is to punch out a reverse light and pull the trunk release cable.....sure was a great 'How To' instructional video for them!.......:shake:

i said the same thing in the old thread. what a joke. id rather have them smash the light and get in then pry it open or w/e else they would do. if they want something bad enough they will get it. think about it, it would take 2 seconds to smash the window and hit the button. then another 5 to take what they wanted and rolled b4 anyone ever saw anything.

Thanks for the explaination also. My MGM doesn't suffer from this, totally different. In fact, I'm pretty sure I don't have that safety trunk release cable thingie...lol.
