Rear End Question for S/C

Remember the old days when S/C was just a dream? We discussed the need for rear end mods for awhile and some of us installed the girdle. Another topic that was touched upon was the axle strength and possible need for upgrade from 28 spline to 31 spline axles, and the likelihood that a supercharged 2-ton sedan would destroy the stock axles.

Question: Any of you supercharged guys had any axle problems (other than TSB axle bearing issues)? Anybody upgraded?

The shortcoming of the upgrade path are the axles, 31 spline long enough for the Marauder would have to be custom cut, yes?

You have brought this up before, refresh me why 31 spline is better than 28?

31 spline are about 25% stronger than the 28's.

A long time ago Mac and I talk about this.
If "I" was supercharged and wanting to run at the track more than once a year I would have 31's no question.
For guys like martyo that are turning into track junkies I would also go 31's,coming home on the back of a wrecker sucks.
