Anyone have any positive experiences with chrome wheel refinishing in the CAM area? I've got a recommendation for a place in Allentown (north, actually) and in Phoenix, but I'd like to stay closer and not have to ship my wheels.

What I need corrected is one of the wheels is losing its lacquer finish and needs to be refinished. If the cost is reasonable, I might get 'em all refinished (the consequences of letting your ex- (before she was your ex-) drive your car).

Seems to me that G-Man had his wheels chromed. Goes back to about 2005 or 2006 when CAM visited the Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum at Dulles followed by the Logan's Roadhouse gathering. Think he sold his MM and not sure he visits here much anymore; but you can try to ping him via PM.

Wait. You realize the stock wheels are not chromed right? It sounds like he just needs an OEM (polished and clear powder coated) wheel refinished.

Yeah - north of Allentown, Pennsylvania. The name of the place is at home and I'll get it later.

And yes, I just need one or three stock wheels refinished. The prices I've seen for that place in Allentown seem to be around $300 per wheel, which is almost, if not more than, the cost of a new wheel.

A lot of the refinishers are going to use a 2k urethane clear coat, sprayed, instead of clear powder coat, when they refinish. I would ask what process and products they are gonna use. The result is not going to be quite the same as OE if its a clear paint vs powder coat clear.
