Ok, so I've been having an issue for a little bit now, and it's been getting more consistent so I'm a little worried and I want to try tostop this at this point if I can.
The problem is this:
9 times out of 10, when the radio is getting power, the sub has a buzzing noise not unlike A/C hum. If I cycle the radio to standby mode from any other mode, the buzzing goes away but it lets of a slight "pop" from the sub when it shuts off. (I have an aftermarket radio btw, Kenwood DPX-503). Normally I think this would just be a grounding issue, but here's the goofy part: when I turn on my headlights if the buzz is there, it gets exponentially louder. ALSO, the buzzing tone increases in pitch with the moving speed of the vehicle, and NOT the RPM of the motor.
The sub and subamp are stock.
I've been thinking about replacing both with something more substantial (and useful as a sub, actually), but I'd rather try to make sure the hum issue is gone before I chunk in something truly expensive if it could cause it damage.
Thanks guys.
