I have the cherry bomb Vortex mufflers. They are basically like a flowmaster. I love them.

too raspy IMHO.

I bought Thrush 2 Chamber Welded for $50 for BOTH off of ebay. They're a cheap chinese knock off of a flowmaster 40, but they sound f'n great.

I had cherry bomb vortex's on a 350 SBC powered camaro I bought, dual 2.25" exhaust with no crossover. It was pretty quiet, didn't sound like anything special. It is a magnaflow / dynomax ultraflo type straight through muffler with a large, glass packed case

Just checked out the Thrush homepage and they have some sound clips from who knows what, assuming a V-8. They sound OK and I see now that the welded mufflers come in stainless which after replacing multiple exhaust systems over the years is paramount. Advance has them for around $40.00 but you need to know the configuration as there didn't seem to be a listing for Marauders, at least that I could find.

For our exhuast use offset in/center out.... pick your flavor on size 2.25 or 2.50

I don't want to hi-jack, but I have two thrush glasspacks for sale if anyone is interested, they were only on my car for about 700 miles.

The original Cherry Bombs are straight thru glass pack mufflers.
Paid ($25 for each) installed on my 1972 Buick Skylark 350 Sport Coupe...
they sound great, not sure how they would sound on the
Marauder 4.6L?

I have the Summit 2 1/2" Glass packs on mine for over two years now - yes they are burned out but I like them just the same!

if they are burned out then you might as well not have them at all, they are just continuations of your exhaust system.

I have run glasspacks on several different cars when I was younger, and more broke, and didn't know any better. There is no reason to put them on anything other than maybe a deliberately-vintage-throwback themed hot rod nowadays, with the selection of good sounding, good quality mufflers now available.

With two cats on each bank of cylinders there really isn't much need of mufflers. Unless I alter/replace the exhaust manifolds/cats, the glass packs will most likely get replaced w/straight pipe when I replace the tail pipes.

Glasspacks,..... for those who want their **** to sound like a dumptruck with a bad muffler. if you are looking for cheap and good , try some summit turbos.
