Yeah....but they'll keep driving on it until it overheats, 'de-laminates' and explodes on the highway....causing a multi-car accident.

I see the '94 to '96 Wimpala SS didn't make the list...

(Seeing as it's SSHS9 Saturday, I just HAD to bring that up.) ;)

I noticed that to.

Might have to go tell some impala owners this.

The Mazdaspeed3 features the turbocharged 2.3-litre DISI MZR (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_MZR_engine) I4 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straight-4) engine, it produces 263 hp and 280 ft·lb when running on 91 octane gasoline.

Theres my pick for #1...only because I've been killed by one. Mazda is a partner with Ford...so its american enough.

should have mentioned the GLHS too. Not just the GLH.

http://old.culturegarage.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/omni.jpg (http://old.culturegarage.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/omni.jpg)

And the Charger GLHS too.

I love the list except for the Impala SS. They should have listed the 94-96 SS instead.

Had to comment.... Somebody had to stick up for us!Thanks for coming to our defense Bob! I think these guys would be guite surprised to see what a Marauder can do once it's true capabilities are unleashed. Hence it does belong on the sleeper list. Drag racing aside, just driving around town I often see people underestimate the car. Yesterday I had 5 adults in my car and was still pulling away from stoplights and powering up hills faster than than the competition! LOL! Like my rear view says, OBJECTS IN THE MIRROR ARE LOSING. (with props to Blackened300a for the idea)

i like the list i have owned 3 cars from it. and i think they should have put the 91,92 spirit r/t on the list. i had one that was stock and it could run mid to low 14's. it was the fastest 4 door you could buy in the 90's.

+1 on the Spirit. I was at Dragway 42 earlier this year and a guy was ripping off low 14's/high 13's in it.

a mazdaspeed 3 isnt a sleeper because people expect it to be quick....

I dont know why they put a Wbody on the list, its a rental car with a truck motor...

And IMO nothing "SRT" is a sleeper... and its not hard to spot an srt anything

How could they miss the Gremlin X with the 304 V8? Maybe the ultimate sleeper.

Yea the ones that kept killing the marauder probably go home every night in a civic SI type R gt vtec whatever thingy and they're just mad because I have a coke at home that has more liters than their car.:hotrice:

Yes, but 4.6 is still sad.

Just look at the new camaro, 6.2 good for 600 HP at the wheels on a safe tune.

My two beefs with this car are the extra wide seats that let my skinny azz slide around and the tiny engine.

Doent' sound like you have beef to me mrs. Justbobby lolol wawawa... I have seen you drive the car slides more than you do im sure.... Other than that i think were in pretty good company on that list

Yes but this car wasnt built to compare to a new ss , or in fact ANY camaro SS . Ford never built this car to be a 4 door version of the ford GT . I think ford has done a great job with our cars being that they are TANKS .

I agree with that. BUT, while all other companies went up in cubes, Ford went to go down.

One of my friends has a Mazdaspeed3, current under going the knife and should come out with 400-500fwhp.

So your telling me with just a tune, the camaro with a LS3 can hit 600rwhp?

I know of a turbo honda S2000 making 700rwhp on the stock internals, and that motor is the size of a mountain dew bottle...

and dont you say hennessy camaro, nothing from hennessy is safe, not even his business cards...

Agreed on the hennessy. And no, it takes a roots blower, cams, exhaust, and a way too overly safe tune to achieve that, and that block will last for years at 600 on stock internals if not a daily race car. This combo has been done on quite a few GEN 5's allready with a nice history lesson from vette's to back it up. Keep in mind, in stock form they dyno at 373.

My only comparison was cubes and block strength. It would've been nicer to start with something quite a bit larger and stronger.

if they would have just given us this engine in the first place

http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/1999-2000-2001-2002-2003-2004-ford-mustang-16.jpg

then you WOULD be safe to 600rwhp :P

Yea I heard about the ford trucks gettin traded in . One guy traded one of those in

at a dealership down the street, and the thing that sucks is you cant even touch the

engine on any of those cars and if you did it was a $15,000 fine. And if you wouldve

seen the way they destroyed the cars you wouldve cried. I even got to do quite a

few myself. The actual CLUNKERS were fun though. We drained all the oil out of them

and ran them like that until they sounded like diesels and died and shot pistons every

where. Then we poured the liquid glass in the engine lol.
