Have anyone fine a skinny tire and rim setup for our cars to run at the track? I know a few guys was talking using the 04 spares? I'm trying to stop the swaying at 100mph+ on the track with my rear Bias Ply ET STREETS

dont use spares Nate, its about the dumbest thing you could do. they are only rated at 50mph for a reason.

done some research m&h makes front runners that are 4.5/27-16 which is very close to the OEM 235/50r18(27.25). You would need two 16inch temp spare wheels for and 03 and up crown vic or gm

I think he means just the rim.
Not the tire itself.

My boy Glenn ran this combo all day today and I was impressed!!!

Only 18" MM spare rims will work properly - they were made especially for the MM to clear the brake calipers and match the correct offset. Plus the MM rims are aluminum. I just used my set at SSHS9. If anything the front skinnies make using MT ET Streets even more challenging to use. It's quite a ride.

so 16inch spares will not work on a Marauder and what tires did you use?

MT Front Sportsman 18"x26"x6" on MM 4.5" spare rims.

Great idea, but hate the look. I'd rather narrow our stock rims.

I think this is the best way to go.

We used Bogarts on my car but you have to buy or have built a wheel that will work with Cobra front brakes. It is not cheap. I got lucky and found a done set and bought them cheap.

If someone wants a set made, I can speak to Rich Bogart and ask him to do a set for you. He is a great guy, makes a quality product, and cares about what he does.

and they felt like they were more unstable on the top end then a radial/biasply tire combo

how low are you guys running the rears? It's all subjective but I run 15psi - even at 124 or so (end of 3rd gear) it walks a little sure, but it's not scary

All I can say is that it is definitely a ride. Not unreasonable, but not for the faint of heart. If you move the wheel at all you could be in trouble. But, we do some crazy things to jump six positions in the Timeslip page. Ran the tires at 18 psi.

I ran mine at 15.5 psi and just before the 1/8 mile I had to let up off the gas. This was my first time running them so I will get use to it. I ran 12.1 because of it had a great 60ft time of 1.61 maybe I can cut that to a 1.59 and hold it steady and really see my time. :burnout:

Just keep your foot in it, right before the 1/8 it feels funny but don't worry about it, just hold on and don't let it get to you

Will do. What do you run you front tire pressure at? Also I'm going to adjust the watts kink air suspension thing to the car had too much gap between the tire and wheel well. I had the air suspension off. But bringing the a$$ down some will help too I know.

Never tried the rear air off deal, when it sits back it doesn't really jump back forward on me and it dead hooks so I never worried about that. My car does sit low in the rear already though anyway, it's prob as low as the sensor will go. That being said having the rear air off may contribute to the rear end walking around on you, would make for an interesting experiment

Wouldn't want the car not high in the rear putting a lol more weight out back? That's what we always do turn off the air suspension before we race. Chime in on this fellas.

You could go the route that Triology went ... Marauder rims narrowed by WeldCraft ...

Think I will fill my fronts up with a Lil more air this Sunday and hold on tighter for the ride.

On widened rears I had the Nitto street tires @ 23.5 psi, and fronts @ 32 psi.......

My best 60ft. was that 1.79 which I thought was not too shabby considering my lack of formal track experience.

Was gonna drop them down another couple psi, but never got the opportunity.

I wanted a little slippage on take off....... As this is my daily driver, sacrificing the 60ft. time for driveline longevity was my intention going into the event. :burnout:
