Lapeer Dragway on 11-09-2003

I am trying to get a group of the Michigan Marauders to Lapeer on Sunday, November 9th. Will probably be in the morning, be there by 10 or so in the morning. I will be going for sure, Hack thinks he can make it, Lidio should be going as well. It would be great to get a good group of Marauders going. Let me know if you want to join us.......

I would really like to see the 63 run. It would be cool for all of us to make it as a final bash of this year. I cannot wait until next year. Also Dave, I think I am gonna do it (you know what) this spring.

I think I'm gonna make the trip to Lapeer:) I'd really like to know what this 2004 MM can do bone stock before I have Lidio put the Trology S/C on it. Having a baseline figure would be important to me.

I'd also like to see Dave run the blown beast at the track in person.

I was going to try and get there by at least 11am. test and tune will be from 11am to 1pm. From their website:

"Sunday & Holidays: The gates open at 9:30 a.m. Test and Tune is from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. and between eliminations. Bracket racing begins at 2:00 p.m. Fees are as follows:

*Test and Tune and Trophy Race: $25 for Car and Driver

* Money Bracket: $40 for Car and Driver

* Two round buy backs in all brackets

* We have a large SNACK BAR FACILITY available "

I thought it might be nice to see if you wanted to meet someplac for breakfast before heading out to lapeer. Anyone interested in that?

I unfortunately wont have my Marauder tomorrow, i took it in this week to have a brake caliper fixed and my fuel gauge that wouldnt move off of full fixed. They had to order the parts for the fuel gauge/sending unit so I am out of luck! But fear not, you know i cant stand to be without a trilogy supercharged Marauder under me, so I managed to get my hands on Trilogy #1!!!
Let me know what time you want to meet there, or what time you want to meet for breakfast. I will be heading M-59 to M-53, then M-69 to lapeer.

Got the number Bigslim. Looks to be about and hour and a half drive from here in Livonia, but I'm aiming more for 10 or 10:30 arrival.

Thanks to the guys that showed up. It was a fun time. The tire store sold the Nittos that were supposed to go on Trilogy #1, so I had to run on the stock tires. I made a total of 16 runs. It wasn't crowded and the 42 degree temp was cool enough I just hot lapped my runs. My first run was a dismal attempt, spun the tires almost the entire way! That run was 15.76 @ 102.07 mph! After another 15 second run, a couple 13 second runs, I finally got into the 12 second runs. Four runs in the 12.4X range, two runs in the 12.5X range, two runs in the 12.6X range, three runs in the 12.7X range, one 12.8X range, and one 12.9X run. Three best runs turned out 12.421 @ 110.62, 12.443 @ 109.98, 12.461 @111.02. They did a good job prepping the track and were laying down the traction spray which helped out a lot. I had to ease into the throttle, but with the cool weather, once I got into it, it went like a rocket.

To all the Motor City Marauders, you missed a good time. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would not have believed it. It did run 12.4 on stock rubber. Also, good runs by Tim with a chip reflash at 14.9 and 14.6. These cars run good in cool weather. Maybe by the next run to the track I will have my Trilogy by then. It was a good day.

No he only brought the MM. That Stang did run a flat 10. On one of the runs that Stang raised up and almost flipped. That car runs.

It went up and the car twisted as if it wanted to go sideways. It was something to see. He caught it and still made a high 10 run.
