I'm looking at Motorsports Unlimited on cable access right now and they're at the Grissom Aviation Museum near Peru, Indiana and next August 7th they're having a car show to benfit the museum. The guy says they normally have 300 cars in attendance and is looking for more cars to show, they would be displayed around the aircraft.
It's about 110 miles from Chicago,two hours for mortals,or about 45 minutes for Dom,lol.
How about it? it would be a great way for more of us to meet one another, see some terrific airplanes with lots of interactive stuff for everyone including the kids!
Unfortunately they don't have a B-26 Marauder but if a bunch of it's namesakes showed up I'm sure there would be a fuss about them.

I likely likey that idea. I love planes and I love my Marauder. What better car show could I possibly attend when there are two hobbies I love in one location!!

GOOD IDEA Uncle Lar! I'd be interested...one of my winter "survival plans" is PLANNING all the cool car shows and events I can while the toys hibernate! :D

Did you say B-26 Marauder, UncleLar? Why, yes you did!

This guy may be dusty, and suffered from some anti-aircraft fire (namely a toddler while I wasn't home), but this here be a Marauder built long before ours. Wasn't even driving yet when I built it.

How'd you like it?
Can you imagine it with about 300+ nice cars to look at too spread around the outside aircraft displays?

Grissom AFB is about 40 minutes from my house! Be aware that that it is a small collection(see photos). It once was an active base, but is now a reserve base. The closest lodging is in Kokomo, about 1/2 hour away.

COOL! Yep! Right up US Rte 31...I actually was on that base for training a few times back BEFORE 9-11...We could FILL that place with some cool Marauders for sure

I'm gonna mark my calendar 'cause I may need a road trip by then. Too bad it's only Air Farce aircraft, but I notice an F4C which is close enough to the F4B that I worked with. Scared the crap out of me every time I had to sit on the ejection seat to move one on the flight line...better have that 3000psi in the air system so you can stop it!

Semper Fi!

I was stationed there in 74-75. Wife is from near by. Havent been there in years. In addition to Reserve Base, there is a prison there now. Can also seek shelter in Logansport, 1/2 hour west of the base.

Be a five hour road trip for me!
