Just one if possible. Title kinda says it all. STOCK lug nut for a Mercury Marauder

The polished aluminum cover fell off one of my lug nuts and despite JB welding it back on twice, It still fell off

Dealer will be the last resort

Come to think of it...is it possible to buy JUST ONE lug nut from the dealer?

after over a year of owning my MM, the double-blowout finally cost me a loss of about 3 or 4 of those things. Keep us posted with whatever you find, it'd be much appreciated.

I have 2 blown lug caps on my drivers side rear wheel...ugly as heck, I am not going to fix it till spring.

Buy the McGard lug nuts. I have them on all 4 wheels. They are solid metal and match the MM very closely.

In your case...seeing as how you need a lot of them, you could buy a stack of them off Ebay.

lol, good lord, thank you for the tip. :) Sadly, a lot of the ones I still have have had surface rust for a while, so it's not the nicest looking thing...

Go with Gorilla Locking Nuts and be done with it.

Set of 20 and will last much longer than the OEM's.

I just went to a auto parts store and they look the same, at least on my car they do.

So I went to the Mercury Dealer: They said that if you order them from the factory, you have to order them in sets of five. Then they told me that the Ford dealer had 3 in their inventory.

Then I go to the Ford Dealer: They say they dont have any Marauder lug nuts 20 minutes after the above conversation with the Mercury dealer:mad2:. Then they tell me they buy all their minor parts from the O'Reilly store down the street.

I go to the O'reilly store: I ask for MM an lug...get it in 30 seconds for $5. and it looks just like an MM lug nut.

If this lug nut doesn't rust I'll NEVER buy anything from a dealer again

I believe JB Weld is an epoxy which cures hard as a rock, and will just crack next time an impact gun is used. Try using a more flexible RTV adhesive (silcone) like Dow Corning 3145 if you can find it. (this is the stuff that holds a lot of aircraft parts together).
I've done most of mine this way and they have survived quite well.
