I see a few members have had issues with axles even with aftermarket ones. What axles work best with Panther cars and other rear end parts have members had good experiences with?

If your upgrading we have been using the Ford OEM 31 spline axles. FTW

Mosier axles have been failing lately so stick with the good stuff made by FORD...

What did (he that shall not be named) go with after twisted the end of his axle? Just an idea what about cryogenicaly treating 31 spline ford axles.

So basically just use a set of axles from a 2005 - newer Crown Victoria?

I believe the biggest issue with the Moser axles is that they are machined for ABS rings AFTER heat treating, thereby defeating the purpose of the heat treating process.

Maybe it would fix the problem by having them cryo-treated (for those of us who have already purchased the Moser axles).

I have had issues with Mosier as well, I wish I would have gone with OEM and saved money while doing it!

Sometimes the AFTER MARKET is not the way to go but folks get caught up in the hoopla and spend extra for it.

I got a set of Mosers done for me and they were not much more than Ford parts.
I don't remember exactly but the new ones were around four hundred.
I had to swap the ABS rings from my old axles.
They better be good!

I have a guy local here in the Tampa Bay area who does Cryo treating. Jeff Carlton the owner of Sub zero Cryogenics. http://subzerocryo.com/

I buy all of my rotors through him and he has provided good prices to other people I have sent his way. He will treat anything you want, quoted me $500-600 for a complete disassembled engine a few years back.

Let me know if anyone is interested and I ping him on how much it would cost. Been doing business with him for 4-5 years now and always a pleasure to work with.

Can you get a price on Marauder / Moser axles?

Thanks!

I emailed him right after my last post, to curious to wait. Checking on how much for one set and to see if he would provide a discount if more than one person wanted them done at the same time. :)

It also gave me an excuse to check on the status of my new rotors. Generally takes about 2-3 weeks from day of order when he provided the rotors.

Can any one give me the exact length of the axle shafts? The Cryo treating guy needs to check the dimensions of his baths to see if they are long enough for an axle shaft to fit in.

Sorry, I forgot to pick up the emergency spare that Zack sent down to SSHS9. I was planning to take measurements from it for Currie but could have also gotten this info for you. Maybe Pops will measure one of them for ya.

Thanks guys, I think I found the right measurement a little while ago but would like a double check if possible. I got 34.3" from an autoparts website for the dorman axles

Finally was over at his shop this last weekend. We measured the cryo bath and the axles will fit. He said $50 per axle because he loses money if he turns on the bath for less than $300. With the axles he would be limited to what else he could fit in the bath which is why it will be $100 for a set.
