The feature that would unlock the doors upon placing the shiter into park stopped working.
I reached for the door handle and the resistance from pulling the handle, bowed out the door panel and felt close to snapping off.
I gently allowed it to relax and no harm was done .

I wasn't even aware we had this feature.
My 300a never did this.

Never had this feature. Ours locks the doors when you put it in drive but it doesn't unlock doors in any gear.

News to me, too. The front doors automatically unlock when you pull the handle anyway. On the rears you have to pull up on the knob or somebody has to push a button.

none of the fords that i have owned or now own (95 crown vic, 98 mark viii, and the marauder) have ever done the unlock thing when you put the car back into park.
My friend who has a buick his car does do this it will lock when moved from park and the doors will not unlock if you pull on the handel then when you put the car back into park then they unlock and you can then open the doors.

The only cars I know of that do this, it is part of an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry.....

Perhaps Bradley forgot he was on MM.net and he was thinking he was posting on General Motors.net:D

Same Here...
No Fords (maybe some newer ones) have the auto unlock feature, only General Motors cars have that feature. Toyotas have it so when you shut off the engine the doors unlock. Just about all Fords and Mopars have the feature when the front doors automatically unlock themselves when pulling the handle.

The auto lock feature locks the doors when I go into drive, if I press the brake hard enough.
I thought the doors used to unlock, when I put the car back in park.
Mrs Bradley G. asked me why the feature went inop?
If all the doors are supposed to unlock when you pull the driver door handle, it does not do that either.
I'm tellin' ya',.. I gots' a problem!:help:

Only the door of the handle you pull, will unlock. This only works on the front doors, though, in case JR is playing with the door handle in the back seat, you don't want the door opening.

That's the way they work.

I believe 2006 and up CV, GM, and TC have this feature. I have no clue if the module will plug into the 2003-2004 MM harnesses.

I've got a "99" Deville and that's a standard feature. Just put it in park and bingo.
