Went to my dealer today to price new rear tires at 16K miles due to the centers are wore out. $105 each and $31 for both to mount and balance. Not a bad price, I made and appointment for this Wednesday.

They may cost a couple of bucks more here, but I want documentation if a refund ever comes available for my center tread wear on the rears. Also if they scratch the rims they can get replacements easier.

FYI, I got quoted a $45 price for the oil change today, last few times they only charged me $25. They stated they were loosing money. Jiffy Lube here I come!

I also ordered new tires today, 19600 miles, front are pretty good but rears are thin in middle. Purchased from Tirerack.com, $86 each for rears, $91 each for fronts, shipped to my garage where he charges $25 each for mounts. Gonna need that good tread when the snow comes.

:D

My rear tires had the center tread down to the warning things at 27,000. What pressure were you running in the rear?

Donald, after the first set went at 20ishK, I went with the recomendation I found on this site, rears at 34-35 PSI. Funny thing is, this is now factory recomended pressure (on the door sticker on 2004 models). It seems to work better for me, no noticable center wear at 10K.

$105 for a rear tire? DANG. What brand? BFG? Last time I priced for my Impala SS, the quote was something like $240.
