removed the lower threaded nut off the end link with a 15mm box wrench.
That was easy. now, the upper end link (which was more accessable from
the top half of the wheel well) poses the real problem. there's no play to
loosen the nut with a box or open end wrench. It's buried between the cast walls of the upper control arm...what tool is required? thanks, Scippy

I always use a 12 pt closed end wrench. It's a little tricky, but they come out.

justbob,
I would imagine this has to be the only tool since i've tried everything else
with no luck..........tomorrow i'll get a fresh start with the "right" tool.
No doubt, I should've asked before I blocked the car up and took the wheels off !!!

If you remove the brake rotor a deep socket will fit.

I was hoping there would be an easier way before removing the brake rotor, but it would be a clear path to removing this otherwise hard to
get at nut........................... ...Thanks

This is what is taking me so long! Every time I want to test fit or check I have to pull the rotor as well! I can't leave it apart because it's my DD.

I don't bother taking off the rotor, thats like work.
