TRP (http://www.thompsonracewaypark.com) was saying that their last week was gonna be November 7th. So much for that! They were open today, and will be open on the 21st (Saturday) for more T&T action.
I'm guessing it will be from 10am-4pm just like the past couple weeks. Open time trials from 10am-1pm (I got 5 runs in), and gambler racing from 1-4pm. It's $12 to watch, but why not spend the extra $3 for a grand total of $15, and run a few times? :burnout:
Figured we'd beat the hell out of the cars for a little while and hang out, then grab a bite to eat somewhere. There's a new Quaker Steak & Lube in Mentor if anyone was interested in that, or there's a few nice places around the strip that shouldn't be too packed.
Myself and Sam from Pittsburgh are in. Also threw the invite out to the CVN'ers. Anyone here interested?

Hahaha, I don't know.
How tough is tech at this track? Is this a quarter mile track?

Quarter mile. There was a Australian Ford Falcon drag ute running 1/8's because he didn't want to have to use his parachute.
As far as tech, I don't think it'll be an issue. I gave my card to the guy in the staging lanes, he wrote something on my windshield and walked away. I didn't see anyone being inspected the whole day. There was also an 8-second Mustang convertible out there!

It was a good time. We had a handful of cars including Sam from Pittsburgh.
We got there early to a ton of fog on the track, which took awhile to burn off. We didn't run until 10:30ish. My first run was so-so, but they glued the hell out of the track for my 2nd run and I was digging straight from the line for my personal best to date (even though my r.t. sucked).
After that, I followed it up with a 19.10 complete with me spinning the tires through the 1/8th-mile, then back to the 14.6, 14.7 club for the rest of the day.
Because the track sucked, the slicks cars and faster street cars were having issues with traction. The finals in the gamblers' bracket was between a 16-second '94 Camaro with a V-sucks, and a 16-second Cavalier. The Cavalier won.

Adam, what was your personal best? 14.52/97.05.
Like mine. The one car that WASN'T having traction issues was "Lurlene" in the '73 Charger.:banana2:

You need traction when you need smokes.

Gonna be a few weeks probably. Bill took something like 300 pictures and said he needs to 'process' them...whatever the hell that means. Plus, you know what he does for a living - he's busy as hell.
