Had to do a double take last night (Saturday, November 14).. I was at Tysons Galleria and saw a Grand Marquis painted all flat black, but with custom exhaust and I think some Cobra wheels.
Don't know if anyone on here would have any idea, but I know it was a grand marquis and not a Marauder because the fog lights were square (not rounded) and there was no Marauder indentation letters in the bumper.
Sorry for the fuzzy description, it was dark and I was trying to figure out what it was. You pulled in the garage and your exhaust was loud. It made me smile :)
My GF said that I just stopped in my tracks with people having to walk around me because I was just staring at the car.

Nah, it wasn't a CV or CVPI, it was definitely a Mercury. I saw the waterfall symbol in the grille when I walked past it. That's why I did a double take.
Are there Grand Marquis' on this website?

Was the flat black look somewhat tasteful or just plain yUck?

I'm not going to lie... I liked it! It was dark outside (around 6pm) and like I said, i was trying to figure out what it was while I was walking inside. By the time I realized it was a Mercury it was already pulling into the garage...
Even the grille looked like it was painted flat black. And the aftermarket wheels and tinted windows added appeal.
Different strokes for different folks, but it made my mouth water!

Hey adam/cleveland if you're logged in there, check his profile and see if he says anything about being in Virginia at all!

Yeah, that'd be great! I wonder if he saw my Marauder in the garage. I was parked on the end in one of the rows.
I was looking for his car when I left the parking garage, but I didn't see it :(
Thanks for your help Adam!

Even though he blacked out the license plate tags in the pictures, I'm pretty sure the yellow Safety Inspection on the bottom of the windshield signify it as a Virginia owned vehicle...

I actually like them. I read through his info from the crown vic site and he said they were custom made by some company that's now out of business. :(

Hey man nice ride! I'm glad the folks on this marauder board helped me out and pointed me in the right direction! I knew it was a long shot, but that's awesome.
I really like your custom exhaust. What did you use? Flowmasters?
123motasim

Thanks man, for my exhaust i used 2.5" piping with 12" glasspacks and no resonators and no balance pipe. i had flowmasters at first but they were too quiet for me haha :D

The price of them is just about on par with what a friend of mine would charge plus the parts (projector, hid bulbs, ballast, etc).
I'll have to keep an eye on this.
Anyone know if the 06-09 GM headlamp is the same exact as our 03/04's as far as size, mounting and stuff?

Yeah I was thinking the shape is a little off, maybe I'll contact them when I'm ready to get something done.
Can you take a picture from inside the car or outside again a wall some distance away, I'd like to see the cutoff line?

I would definitely be interested in getting a pair if they can do it for our Marauders! Those look great!
BTW you guys should see those headlights at night like I did! That's why I had to do a double-take! The headlamps just looked so cool that at first, i didn't think it was a Mercury.. :D
