Hey all,

I should have around 500+ miles on here by end of this week and will change the oil Friday ($9.95 at the Ford Dealer) I thought about taking the Marauder to the Dyno Day GTG $40 for 3 pulls but may just put the GT on there just too close me thinks? It has a base tune so runs ok idles ehh but runs really smooth.

Cheers!

Just make sure they use the correct oil and the right amount.

Hmmmmm been about 5 years so it's a tad foggy. I just drove it like I drive it everyday more or less I guess. After the switch to synthetic oil I made beating on it more of a point... however that's also due to the fact that the motor was finished in late Dec. and it was a rather snowy winter, so there wasn't a ton of opportunity to beat it before the synthetic change anyway
I didn't really baby it much though, but that's just me.

Breakin based on what the engine builder tells you to do, 'cause they're the ones who you'll be looking at to stand behind it if something goes wrong. My first bb/s builder said fire it up and go straight to the dyno, no problem. Just vary the RPM instead of keeping it constant. Second bb/s builder said to break it in by bringing it up to temperature then shutting it down and let it cool off, then do whatever you want to. Both recommended using petroleum oil for breakin, at least 500 miles. Ok to run dino oil for 5-10k before switching if desired, even stick with dino oil permanently is ok. Harder to prevent the synthetic oil from leaking.

Change the oil often during brake in. Hopefully your rings got seated really well.
