Glad you're okay, friend had one come through the windscreen and both died. If you have USAA insurance there will be no problems at all. Can't speak for any others. Did the GHP take the deer? Here the FHP takes them to the Boys Home.

Don't let them use cheap aftermarket part's to fix it! Don't go out for lunch! Good luck

OUCH!
That sucks...friggin' white tailed rats!
I know how you feel brother!
(Mine has been in the body shop since October 29th.)
The insurance company will most likely replace the grille, headlights and hood with "quality used parts".
Their obligation is to use parts that are from a vehicle of equal or lesser age/mileage.
I just don't know how they can assure that is the case, once the part is pulled from the junkyard car.
For hitting a deer that solid, the damage doesn't look too bad! They can cause a lot of damage. Is the bumper OK?? The hood? Glad you're OK. People that try to swerve and avoid too often end up in much worse shape. Were you able to retrieve the grille logo?

Absolutely, make sure they use ford OEM parts only
Your front bumper looks fine, is it?

I feel for you and hope it is made just like new again and you can never tell it ever happend other than the dent in your wallet with the deductable.

I am glad you were not hurt as Bambi's can cause a lot of damage.I have been hit twice in the last three yrs. and had no problems with the 2 insurance co's. Farmers and State farm paid off very fast and the cars were fixed right.

it wasnt highway patrol who responded it was the county police.
he walked over to it... kicked it.. and said "I assume its dead"
but i have heard of police moving them from the road way... never anywhere else tho.
and the grill logo. it probably got smashed into 500 pieces. as other cars passed me when i pulled over i could just hear plastic cracking when every car passed. i rode by their today and all i seen was a few smaller pieces but nothing big. so thats gone bye bye.
the front bumper is a lil bit lower... it leans downward. the front part of the hood is rolled under somewhat, and has a crease somewhat near the middle. the metal beam that is behind the grill in front of the radiator has a curve in it now... not tooo bad.. but i notice it. the driver side fender is pushed back a lil. and of course i need two new head lights (which is good cuz i was gonna order some new ones cuz the old ones were foggy)
the insurance adjustor viewed it while i was at work and said its aproximatly $2,700 worth of damage.

Make sure they look at unseen damage. Sounds like your bumper cover support brackets are bent/broken.

+1 to making sure that OE or at least quality parts are used.
My friend had a 'road closed' sign get caught by a gust of wind and land right in front of his '04 Marquis. Didn't seem like a lot of damage but the driver's side fender was replaced along with the front bumper and the headlights.
I drove him to the body shop to pick it up. They pulled the car around and the car was just NOT right. None of the new parts lined up properly, especially the new fender, which was 3/8" BELOW the hood. And the hood was 1/4" below the header panel! He didn't notice half of this stuff, but I was like "dude, you can't take this car home, it's messed up."
Finally he realized I was right, and called his insurance company. They sent someone out to look at it and were apalled at how bad the car looked.
Needless to say, it was fixed properly with the correct parts this time, including the OE headlights.

I have found that cars pre 1975 are good for deer hunting as the metal is much thicker than the tin foil they use today. Glad to hear you are all in one piece and we'll keep our fingers crossed on the repairs to your MM.

Car is now at the body shop.
I told them to use oem parts and they said they try their best to use those. I took it to a Ford Lincoln Mercury body shop so i hope they do a decent job
ol boy dragged my tips across the ground when he drove it up on the truck..... i had a few words for him. i also let the ppl at the body shop know about it. one is scratched, just a lil rough section about a half inch on the passenger side tip

I HATE roll back tow trucks, I had an idiot driver, after I told him to use the wood blocks he had specifically for loading low clearance cars, smash the front end of my recently painted firebird into the deck and crack the paint. I think the old style tow trucks did less damage than trying to get any car with normal ground clearance on a steeply angled rollback.

he drove it up??????????
not actually onto the ramp. he backed it out the drive way and drove it up to the lift. and when he started pulling it up thats when they dragged.
there is no way i would have allowed him to drive up an incline like that. im sorry for the missunderstanding.
but the funny thing is the body shop sent me an email saying they got authorization from the insurance company to start repairs and they said it should b done by the 25th....... we will see

They should have used a "stinger" like the one below, but most tow companies don't own them...

Would like to know the thought process behind that statement.
If you tow it from the front with a stinger/wheel lift(thats what the towing industry calls it) you would have to remove the drive shaft (have you tried this on a Marauder not easy, bolts on the driveshaft are extremly tight), or the axles which we all know is not possible, and the long overhang which extreme caution would need to be used while towing as to not damage the vehicle. And if towed from the front the steering wheel would need to be lock and secured(and we all know that the marauder does not have a column lock), and again the overhang issue. Also towing from the rear having the steering locked, is very dangerous if a part fails and the wheel unlocks, the car could veer out of line of the tow truck, and possibly cause personal injury and property damage.
I load and unload my marauder all the time on a flatbed tow truck and have only dragged the tips once. And I drive it up the bed. Not all responsible tow truck drivers do the things you guys are complainig about, only the untrained morons that some companies put behind the wheel of the truck.

A couple of other things^^ type of truck is not used as much as it is very limited on what it can tow SAFELY.
Yeah Flatbed/rollbacks are easier to use and more idiots are able to use them but they are SAFER. And if loaded properly there could be up to 2 parts(chains or straps) fail and the car still be safe on the deck. I have loaded some of the lowest exotic cars on my companies flatbed tow truck with 0 issues.

those type trucks only come out at night cuz those are the ones the repo men use
UPDATE: Due to they needed to order some more parts (radiator) the release date of my automobile is November 27th.... 25th at the earliest. Damn thanksgiving got in the way, i would have gotten it by Monday

Ironically I killed 2 bambis in my Impala SS. They were leaping across the roadway and that whale of a car couldn't even come close to stopping before I plowed into them. One of the accidents was $2,000 damage. Second one was $1500 damage. State farm took care of them both. No questions asked. Both times there was dear hair stuck everywhere. Proof was there. They didn't really ask any questions and just fixed it. I had a deduct of $250 both times.

if you want white headlights with very little color, you'll need an HID system rated at about 6000°K. These may have a slight purple/pink hue. (Halogen bulbs, even xenon super white bulbs, will always have some tint and cannot achieve this Kelvin temperature.)
For example, look at this scale:
1500°K - Candlelight
2680°K - 40w halogen bulb
3000°K - 200w halogen bulb
3200°K - Sunrise/Sunset
3500-4300°K - Most Xenon Superwhite Bulbs
5500°K - Sunny daylight around noon
6000°K-7500°K - Overcast Sky, Some true HID Systems
8000°K-9000°K - Sunny blue sky, Some true HID Systems
10,000°K - 12,000°K - Purple hues at sundown- the light emitted travels the shortest distance.
this is a scale that best reflects the above scale. companies may differ.
