What are you guys using for filters. (Not the stock panel filter)
Iv'e been looking to make something from a kit that K&N offers. (Incorporating a ram air type system, pulling air from th radiator area. Anybody have the 411? Pics of what it looks like.:help:

I haven't heard of anyone here doing this. I'm not saying they haven't done it, but I haven't heard about it.

The OEM air path has been satisfactory among us so far, we know it's not the best we could ask for, but we know it's the best we can have without getting stupid about it. Keep us posted, eh?

I had an idea for Ram Air, but then I got an 85MM C&L MAF with a HUGE K&N conical filter. I modded the heat sheild to fit. Works out pretty nice.

Could you shoot me some pics, maybe some part #'s. I'd appreciate either or, or both.

Thanks.

I have a K&N air charger kit on my '96 T-Bird. Boy what a difference in horsepower! I was throughly impressed! That is the one that I'd go with.

FWIW, I believe Dennis is still planning a cold-air kit for us...

Logan knows someone, who can make you an adapter plate to accept a K&N conical filter, just like LML has. That's a start.
Like RF said, DR has talked about developing a cold air kit for our MM.

Yah, what he's refering to is a MAF adapter. It's a four bolt plate that bolts to the MAF, and has the base to accept a conical filter.

Mine however is a completely new MAF. I'll get some pics up here soon.

I have the huge K&N conical filter, but haven't rigged up a heat shield or other cold air kit for it.

Thanks guys. LML, that would be great. Maybe I'll give Dennis a call. See what he's planning for this.

Can anyone on this thread comment on the effectiveness of the K&N replacement air filter for the stock one??? I just installed one today. Thanks,

Glenn

I've got one Glenn (the 1st one we found that fit...NOT the one they have for it now)...do I think it helps...yes...can I prove it...no...

Watch out...this can turn into an "oil thread"...

Most of us long-timers ('cept for a few that feel it's "hocus pocus") found that the K&N #33-2012 which was originally for the Ford: 1985-86 5.0L Bronco, 1986-91 5.0L Crown Victoria fit. That's the one I have which I put in nearly 20K miles ago.

Now, K&N has a specific filter for the Marauder #33-2272

I have the 33-2272. This one has deeper pleats that run perpendicular to the 33-2012. The 33-2272 fits tight and was designed for the MM.

K & N's site says the 33-2272 is for the Marauder...K&N (http://www.knfilterchargers.com/search/appsearch.aspx)
What's the 2277 for?
