Hi everybody, i've been using this site for some time, I have an 03 Black on Black Marauder and whenevr I needed info on something or just was dreaming about superchargers; this site was always there for me so I've finally joined.
I live in BC Canada on Vavcouver Island and I think Im the only guy around who has a Marauder, not to many up here.
Cheers everyone!
Scott
welcome:wave: and I hate snow, I'm in Michigan so judging by your picture I see whats coming my way:bigcry:. It's very easy to build your own supercharger kit for cheap, Dave-ImpalaSlayer made his own Eaton kit, I'm buying the last of my parts to make a Paxton NOVI-1500SL Water to Air kit.

I thought the picture was aproprite being from Canada...LOL
Its from a snow storm we had last year, we actually almost never get snow here, maybe a few inches every now & then. Lately though we have been having some snowy winters. I have agressive snowys on the back and always keep my tank full + add some extra weight in the trunk and away we go. Almost can plow through anything...but seriously I hate the snow to and have a Jeep Cherokee for this year. I will lay off on the Marauder if it gets to bad and use it.

You had me worried with that pic all the bad storms seem to drop out of Canada and run threw Michigan. I don't even temp fate I just store the my toys for winter. I can't tell by the small pic but looks like a Honda CBR? I just sold my 2003 Kawasaki ZX7R:( I had to many toys and the wife always hated the bike.

The bike is a VFR800, no snow tires for that one!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I couldn’t source the right size rims & tyres in time, the snow happened overnight, was supposed to be a "light sprinkling" but we ended up w/2 feet! So I just stuck them on, 16 inch rims with proper snow tires.

I would like to change all 4, I use 16' rims for the back but was wondering if a 16 incher would fit over the brakes in the front?
I suppose I could search all forums …

yup 16s will work just fine on the front provided you have the stock brakes.

Thanks!
I was afraid with the oversised brakes in front that it might be to tight.
I also like the snow tire price & selection in 16s better.

Hello fellow BC'er. Where on the Island are you? Do you get out to the mainland often? There are 3 of us out here that get together once in awhile. One of them just totaled his supercharged black Marauder and just bought a twin screw supercharged silver Marauder from another member here. I have 16's on all fours right now with Michelin X-Ice tires. Let me know if you need any info.
Derek.

Nice to know Im not the only one abusing a Marauder in winter!
Im in the Cowichan Valley just North of Viictoria.
I get over to the mainland more in the summer, go to Mission alot to watch bike races.
I'd love to hear one of these on the gas way up in the revs whith a supercharger! I figure in a few summers from now I will seriously bolt some goodies on mine, supercharger first....:burnout:
In the meantime I could settle for a ride in one!

Welcome Aboard! :)
Welcome Scott from a fellow Canadian. Do me a favor and take a nice picture minus the snow. They're going to think we live in Igloos up here.

Thanks for all the "Hello's"
All you guy's have AWSOME CARS!!!
What a resource for anyone wanting to do any mods to a Marauder
I'm having a bit of trouble with the motor on mine, believe it or not in August I had a brand new motor installed under warranty. (in service date of my car was Aug 30 2004 with a 5 year 100,000mile powertrain warranty)
The crank was f'ed and knocking like crazy, after a little back and forth with Ford Bam! they ordered a new motor-no questions asked.
Now....I have the new motor in for about 3 months, 2 oil changes, and....
Knock, Knock again, I just borught it in and they found metal flakes in the oil and now are going to pull the motor again....to try and determin cause.
Her's the rub - My warrant expired Aug 30, no more warranty-even on the brand new motor -Wait...I am working with an excelent Ford dealer where the car was bought new, and the service manager there is an awsome guy who is helping me through this and will go to bat for me because I am a long time loyal customer there that ALWAYS services his vehicles on time.
So thats my saga, tomorrow they yank the motor, I might drop by and take some pics...
I will keep you posted on my progress.

Here are some pics of the motor swap done in August.
Born on date for motor is 07/29/09. They had to assemble a block because there were none around, lots of new head's and stuff, just no blocks done and sitting there. I waited for 2 months while they waited(ford dealer) for the motor to show up/be built....the whole time I had to a rentacar free under warranty, still missed some prime summer cruisin time in the Marauder though.
It ran fine for about 750 kms, then on cold strts I heard a little bit of noise that would always dissapear when motor was warm. This has progressed to the problem I mention in above post.
Notice no snow in pictures!!!

Dave has the Trilogy from his old car to sell if you're interested. His new Lyshom s/c will be breaking 11s no problem if he can get traction. Post some details about your car!
