View Full Version : Stallion Converter
I would like to know some of you guys opinion on the Stallion Converter for city driving we have had lots of problems with the stock converter been replaced once and ready again. Most all of out driving is city but very hilly terrain. I want to change converters but 2800 to 3000 is what Precision is recommending and that sounds high for a car that is not going to the strip. I have 4.10's and DH Chip. Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

I love mine and am very happy with it. Starting out on hilly terrain you may find that it requires a little getting used to, as it is characteristic that with a high stall converter, the motor spools up a bit before rolling. Once the car is rolling I do not believe you will notice a significant difference. MY torque converter is programmed, through chip, to lock up and stay locked up and I prefer that for the high way driving and hilly terrain. Consider doing this for yours as well.
I also think a call to Dennis Reinhart might be in order. He sells the Stallion and is quite knowledgeable about setting 'em up. Plus, I think he may get you a better price than you will get going to PI direct.
If you are in the downstate NY area, feel free to look me up and drive my car. Nothing like a little first hand experience.

and it's excellent.....I highly recommend it, and I don't notice any difference at all driving in traffic, uphill, downhill, or where ever. I haven't driven in the snow w/it yet, but someone else who has this T/C once told me that he simply used second gear for starting off from a stop in the snow. I went w/a 3000RPM stall speed, cuz that's what Precision Industries recommends for the Marauder. it will take away your hard shifts, but the car will accelerate faster, and will also spin the wheels more from a dead punch on dry pavement. But when I just start off normal, I haven't noticed any difference at all. If you need more details, then you should checkout the thread I started in this same forum last month about the Stallion T/C titled "This Stallion T/C is Great!!" It's probably on the second or third page by now.
