srt8 charger couldn't hang

I was leaving bww's last night and saw a srt8 charger in the parking lot with his lcar started so I cruised pass him and let him here the exhaust next thing I knew he was speedin up behind me. I was in front of him and turned onto the main rd and hit it a little bit as he did getting up next to me, we were approaching a light up the street so we both slowed all the way down to make sure we caught the light and we did. He started to do a burnout at the light mind you its 12 am and nobody was around so I figured I mine as well spin them to to insure I don't spin out of the whole. The light turned green and bam I found myself 3-4 car lengths ahead of him and held it til about 80mph and let off. Pulling up to the next light he goes on saying he had been drinking and he really wasn't racing all out (yea right but he was dry hopping in the middle of an intersection, lol) and went on to say "I got over 400hp that "mavauder" can't beat me yea he called it a mavauder, lol and he wanted me to follow him somewhere else to race and I told him no point I just got done beating you, that's when he turned off. I definitely thought he was gonna win or be right next to me but maybe I just tree'd him but it felt good to beat up on a mopar.

I know its been done, theirs one in the timeslips page of an 04 running a 14.5, I'm just saying i've never seen it done right infront of me... But that doesn't mean it hasn't happened, which your car is proof that it has.

Same goes for doom saying he's never seen a SRT8 charger run low 13's, but thats not to say it hasn't happened before

All srt8s aren't going to be low 13 second cars obviously the one I came across wasn't, for example breeze's marauder pulled a 14.71 and when mine was stock I couldn't beat 15.3, that's a big difference so some stock cars are just going to be faster than others.

I got a few time slips that are low 13's. Local club member with an SRT Jeep ran a 12.7 in Montgomery, AL last month at a track day, stock except for CAI and tune. Stock SRT Challengers, 300's and Chargers should be mid to low 13's even with street tires and no mods, low 13's with a tune, CAI, and exhaust mods, high 12's with drag radials. That friggin Jeep is one fast mofo.

I think what's happening is your Doomyness just out awesomes them, and that costs them .5 at the track ;)

Ah, yeah, I ran against a blown Charger back in October and kept up with him decently, better than I did with Glen, who stomped the crap out of me. Chargers are pretty much on par weight wise with Marauders, though Challengers are damn heavy too. What gets me is how fast Magnums are, the current LX platform record holder for a daily driver is high 9's, and the dude drove it to the track and back home the day he ran. Well, he did have a big shot of juice that helped.

2. When I bought my car it didn't have a 324, in fact it didn't have 99% of the things it has now, and it ran a 13.5@105mph. The only thing left from the previous build is the brake calipers, and the case for the Novi head unit.
2.1 It runs 11s...the one time I ran it at the track with a good tire, without anything that can be called a real tune, k thanks :shake: Oh and at 117mph

3. I post based on things I actually know, have experienced etc. You should try it sometime. Further, when I don't know things first hand, I use words like: maybe, seems like, xyz has said etc. I don't just go around stating things are facts without actually seeing it for myself.

You are completely correct! A 6.1 with 425 hp is definately faster than 4.6 with 302 hp... It was never a fair fight from the beginning.

I have raced several chargers and magnums beaten them all.
As a matter of fact last year we were at Cecil dragway and there were a few mopar boys there and I asked if we could line them up and they said yes after they seen the marauders make a few passes. They ignored us the rest of the day. :rofl:

the following week one lined up with NATEHAWK and he blew his doors off. The video is here on the site. Just search DOOMS videos. :laugh:

I highly respect the modern day Mopar. Hell i've even been eyeing a certain 300 SRT/8. But I would have separation issues with my MM so I decided to fling some money towards her just to stay a step ahead of the competition. Because yes, it did suck getting my butt handed to me everytime I used to go to the track. I get a good chuckle when strangers approach me (figuring it's stock) and say "man them things are fast!" If they knew the truth, they would be the ones laughing. It takes pretty serious money to just hang with an SRT/8 anything driven by the right person at the track.

Waiting on my tubular front suspension and brake setup from magnumforce racing so i'm low on cash for a while, lol. I don't know what it will run, a bunch of people have guessed, but i'll be happy either way. The other good news about this, is that i will be getting rid of my only GM product to fund this :D

16v 4.6 normally asperated? Not so much

36v 4.6 normally asperated, tune, cai? Much better, but see line 1

On the other hand, 5.7L and 6.1L hemi normally asperated = fast mofo!

however - not as fast as Line 1, which is a Fast Mofo!

however, 6.1L hemi forced induction = Holy ****z That's Fast!

Okay, as a former Marauder owner who never supercharged his car, but did a lot of performance mods, I can say I never, ever was able to do a massive tire smoking holy ****z burnout with the Marauder--- unless I power braked it. I can do this on my Challenger SRT without touching the brakes. Say all the hi-larious insults about Hemis, SRT's and whatnot, no question the 6.1L Hemi powered Challenger is an order of magnitude more powerful than a similarly modded Marauder. And it should be, considering the Marauder sold for $10K less comparatively.

I now have 357rwtq to play with and from a roll can now lay-down two long black strips down the road at my command...LOL But yeah the SRT8s come from the factory with lots of torque.
