You know earthquakes arent seasonal...LOL The last one we had in the Bay Area NorCal was in 89 (7.1). But funny you should mentioned this because visiting back east in 06 everyone said the same thing about the earthquakes and it funny because it isnt like theres an earthquake season or anything like that. Once in a while you get one that will register high (5) on the Richter scale lower than 3 cant even feel it. I think the worst thing about California is our politics (Sacramento), high taxes, traffic, air quality, high cost of living. Other than that the weather is great...BTW, I get 11-13" of rain annually.

Sacramento is so screwed up its no wonder why we are 30 B I L L I O N in DEBT. For the EIGHTH largest Economy in the world how did that happen? Arnold was good his first term....then he got re elected and has been disappointing. But I never put my faith in ANY politician they are very ambitious and will always disappoint you just like my RAIDAZ:D

The snows I mounted are on thier fifth season, I'd be lying if I said the rears have much left.
You can still see the sipes , they are maybe good for one more season.
I wish I had snow tires for Lil Sis, the UHP summer tires don't offer much traction below 30*, Good thing I work close to home.

Just sold the old van so now I have cash for winter tires. Got an eye on a set of new 17" Mustang Bullitts and a new set of 235/60-17 Kumho snows. With mounting and balancing it'll be $850. We won't have any snow to speak of for at least 2 weeks so I should be good to go by the time I need them.

Thanks to Sean, I'll be putting the snow tires/rims on this weekend. I hate snow... My Siberian Husky and kids love it though. Guiness (my dog) pulls the kids on a toboggan at about 20+mph. :D

It's snowing here in NW Louisiana, a light, small flakes, dusting. Not even hitting the ground. But it's nice to see.

I almost hate to say it - but I'm about two weeks from re-activating the insurance on my 2003a for the winter. It sat all summer. I didn't even switch out the snows from last year.

I remain, AFAIK, the only guy on the planet with a Marauder as a dedicated winter only car. I might hit 100k miles by February.

I think this year I'll fix the HVAC so I at least have heat on my feet.

Damn son! Thats some snow!!!

Now my problem... My Escort wagon with new front firestones is utterly reckless to drive in the snow! No takeoff, no turning, no stopping! This morning I took one of the kids to school and it was ALL over the place. I decided to take the Rauder with the new snow tires and NO weight when I took the second kid and HOLY CRAP that car stuck to the road like glue!!! So what's the point of having the beater???????? My escort hatchback I had last winter was a dream in the snow (except turning), of course it was a standard shift and this one isn't.

Put the snowshoes on Blue Nov. 22 before we flew to Michigan for Thanksgiving. I did Red on Fri. Dec. 4. Got the first white stuff on Sat. Dec 5th, my birthday -- YUCK!!! Gawd, I hate winter. Looking forward to NMB, SC for Christmas! I might get one car washed!

We had a couple Escort wagons when we lived in NYC (least likely car to be stolen and the people who come out at night are animals and have no respect for other people's property). I always thought the wagons did well in snow...just point add mash the gas. Do you have snow tyres on the front wheels? Snows make a big difference.

I usually swap out my "cop snow tires" by Thanksgiving but am a bit behind schedule. My MM does not have winter duty anymore, but I still change them for the season (may as well get use out of the set and keep the miles off my original tires). I actually enjoy running it that way for a while, then slapping the mags back on when the weather breaks just ushers in Spring appropriately!!

My Marauder has been my best car in the snow by far. Excluding my 4WD Jeep. I will forever buy snow tires now for whetever car I may own in the future (hopefully another Marauder). I was so surprised at how the car was so firmly planted on the road and the traction I have in the snow.
